As we discussed elsewhere, August is going to be busy with tropical systems. You may start frothing now Barry, but remain patient in the coming week or two.

Here is is something from the flhurricane.com boys, many are real or hobbyist meteorologists:

"Mentioning the fact ultra long range models show very high activity in the Tropics in mid August. GFS has 3 active tropical cyclones, one in the Gulf, one in the Caribbean, one int he Central Atlantic, and another strong wave exiting the coast on the 15th-16th. Although the details are not worth fretting over at that far out, the trend of high activity is what we look for, and it looks like August is going to ramp up very quickly."

There is a Gulf "home brew" style system showing up around Aug 10th for the Northeast Gulf, GFS has it as a much weaker reflection. at the same time a weak wave in the western Caribbean fires up into the Yucatan. The Euro shows the Northeast Gulf system, but not the wave in the western Caribbean.

The weak wave is near Jamaica on Tuesday, August 9th, but the rest of the Caribbean is mostly clear."---flhurricane.com

its impossible to predict storms this early, let alone actual tracks.doesnt work that way.im no meteorologist but I do know a few things and that's no storms no waves.mid winter u can see a low coming from the west a week before it hits and know that in a week there will be some waves, could be bad winds, but there will be waves.nobody can see the future, its just broken promises.

so I highly doubt we will have an august full of activity, but I hope somebody proves me wrong.this summer sucks, but its summer so.............

just make sure you aren't staring into the crystal balls of 10 day model forecasts, when some 3 foot local wind swell cleans up and gets fun for a couple hours while your dreaming about August 10th.
