    Disturbance 1: 10% Chance of Cyclone Formation in 48 Hours
    As of 2:00 am EDT Mon Aug 15 2016 ...
    A tropical wave located a few hundred miles south-southeast of the
    Cabo Verde Islands continues to produce disorganized showers and
    thunderstorms. Some gradual development of this system is possible
    during the next few days before conditions become less favorable by
    the late in the week. This system is forecast to move westward to
    west-northwestward at about 15 mph over the eastern Atlantic through
    mid-week.
    * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent
    * Formation chance through 5 days...low...

    The wave 98L has some model support, but it rund into conditions that are not favorable in a few days, so the window for development is a bit short. If it deos develop, it's highly likely it will stay out to sea and curve away.

    Another wave behind this one has multiple model support and more of a chance to impact the eastern Caribbean but that's over a week out. This shows on both the GFS and Euro.

    A third wave is possible beyond that. "

    They need to change the name back. When it was Cape Verde, hurricanes all the time. Cabo Verde, not so much.

    Very inconsiderate.

    Disorganized cloudiness and thunderstorms over the far eastern
    Atlantic are associated with a tropical wave located a few hundred
    miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. Environmental
    conditions are conducive for gradual development of this disturbance
    during the next few days, but could become less favorable later this
    week. The system is expected to move west-northwestward to
    northwestward at 10 to 15 mph into the central tropical Atlantic
    during the next several days.
    * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent
    * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent

    The GFS dropped the storm on the 12z and it remains gone on the 18z. Having said that, the 0z 16 Aug will probably reincarnate it. Worth keeping an eye on, but we'd do that regardless.

    Cyclone Formation in 48 Hours
    As of 2:00 am EDT Tue Aug 16 2016 ...
    A large area of cloudiness and thunderstorms located about 450
    miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is associated with a
    tropical wave. Environmental conditions are expected to be
    conducive for development, and a tropical depression is likely to
    form during the next few days while the system moves
    west-northwestward to northwestward toward the central tropical
    Atlantic.
    * Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...60 percent
    * Formation chance through 5 days...high......70 percent
