Predicted dbl-triple overhead swell never showed up. At Pawleys,,,,had some chest to occasional head high---mostly closeouts. At about noon today SE wind was picking up and swell was dropping fast. It looked like ants on the water on the north side of the Pier this am.

Feel sorta like the kid that Santa missed on Christmas....although it was better than what we've had to surf recently. I think it was better Wed (or was that Tuesday) evening when we had the short lived swell from Ana.
    Go north.

Horrible swell, overated and mostly nonesense. Never even came CLOSE to what was predicted...all closeouts. Some of the creek mouths broke..but crowded. Give me a waist high wave with a WALL....ANYDAY....

Busted everywhere....this forecast was a ****ing joke....as the guy said a few post back "not even in the same ballpark". I checked Myrtle this morning and it was lapping on the beach...MAYBE thigh to waist occasionally. Surfed Litchfield and it was better but still a joke. Was there from 7 to maybe 10:30 or so and saw maybe 6 - 8 that were legit overhead, but everything closed out....this was a joke.

surfed it from 6:30 to 9 this morning- wasn't DOH but it was solid chest-head high with some legit plus sets and lining up the best I've seen it since it fired for a week straight off the Dean combo swell.

Started checking at 6am. litchfield...nothing. ended up at PI by 6:30am after a long, soul seaching, profanity filled ride. There were a few waves there that werent bad, not going to complain bc its better than we usually get! My only issue is that if you look at forecast for right now-....i should be able to run over to beach and catch some head+ waves. If nothing else, "real-time" (i.e.-7pm at 7pm)should at least close to accurate.right? i will say that my "swellinfo" T-shirt is going to stay in drawer this week.

who ever said sunskipper can't hold swell is completely right...today sucked, it was only a solid 6 foot with plus sets and a light wsw until noon, just got out from an evening sesh...it also sucked 4-5+ foot aframes in waist deep water with an evening glass off...wow get out of wrightsville and look at a map--->sorry just venting i love that place

You guys sound like my gf! What u expect? Beaches around here can't hold that swell. I thought the size was 6-8 on the sets. Brutal wait, alot of paddling with the drift at Pelican.

Does Pawleys ever have good surfing conditions? From what I have learned, if you want good surf you have to go north. Still though, I am grateful for the waves we got these past few days.

Well from what I have learned, everyone down here who is good at or surfs alot head north to Wrightsville. If I ever get good at it, I want to take a surfing trip but until then at least Myrtle is a good location for a beginner like me to learn what the heck he is doing. Where else besides Wrightsville do people flock to surf in NC?
