http://www.surfline.com/surflinetv/...on-primed-to-end-east-coast-flat-spell_141075 Pretty cool look at the storm....making its way all the way across for some good swell for us. Disclaimer: this is only an FYI, and in no way detracts from La Ninas consistent reporting on tropics
Gaston is looking like it will be in the 'meh' range for swell quality. Good overall path for NE waters, but just not a lot of juice when it matters. It looks like the system will fire up after the turn, but that's only gonna help the damn Euros. However, I'm so swell starved, some waist+ waves is all I need to get jacked at this point.
I agree...NOAA keeps backing and backing the size and period down for the mid atlantic. Now kind of peaking in the 3' @ 14 second range Late Monday into Wednesday, along with "light and variable" winds. I've seen swells like this where there were excruciating waits between sub-chest high sets, and then the sets come in all warbled and backwashy for some reason, probably no offshores to groom peaks is part of it.
The reason is visible on the NHC chart: there is another low forming immediately south of Bermuda, located between you and Gaston. This new low will indeed screw up the 15 second swell and be corrupted down a few notches. Isn't planetary weather just wonderful?? Have fun in the slop you are about to get!!!!
I would be happy with some chest high waves. Right now I think we are seeing a little south swell from 99. But a be wind picked up. Monday/Tuesday look promising.

I don't know boys, past few days we've had pretty good waves here I've been able to get some really good Carolina cut back soon, it's been a pretty good time I hope that we actually get some real six-foot plus waves for once.
Just like last year when we had those category two hurricanes were out in the middle of the Atlantic and we didn't get anything from them. Wasn't it hurricane Edwardo or something. It was like a category three near the Azores waste of a cane. Im ready for some doh florida noreasters.
