Not sure I'm not sure anywhere in FL will hold up the possible long period double-overhead swell on saturday, but a beach break is definitely your best bet and not an inlet situation. I'm gonna try nsb around 7th and possibly bethune. cross your fingers
East swell This is going to be an east swell and West Palm breaks best on NE swells. RC's in Satellite Beach can hold a swell this size but the paddle out will be brutal. However, the further south you go past Melbourne, the smaller it will start to get. You can bet from Jacksonville to Sebastion is going to be one big GIANT closeout with this being such a big east swell. Sunday is going to be going off though. Head high and glassy....I'm salivating just thinking about it.
The trick will be finding a good, swift rip current to get you out fast if there is a lull in the swell.
it is pumping, and the swell is still filling in!!!!! needed a lunch and water break, will be going back out for a few more hours once the tide starts filling in again
Yah man... Big wide barrels in bethune this evening... I can hear the waves crashing from my house.... very rare....
yeah i heard st. auggie and jax were pretty good. glad to hear you scored in bethune. it was pretty closed out this evening, with some massive sets rolling through. got a bunch of really good rights throughout the day, just had to wait a long time and constantly paddle against the drift. my last wave was a half decent right which closed out on me...turn around only to see the biggest set yet, so i caught some whitewater in instead of trying to exhaust my body even more by trying to get back out. turned out to be a great call, once i got in saw three huge sets (8ft+) come in, which i woulda taken on the head..... anyways....stoked! lets see what tomorrow holds...
Jax got it good today! Shot some video from the pier, it was going OFF! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwp6usGAV38 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqJa477KWtk
I saw some awesome pics from Jacksonville area. Did anyone hear about the person who died in New Smyrna? The weather channel makes it sound like it was a surfer. The stupid news channels do the same thing around here when someone drowns, in reality it is usually some tourist who rented a board or soemthing.
sorry to hear someone died at NSB, the sh*t was big this weekend, people need to realize what their limit is
