Not sure of the 2 mil. surfers in the USA, what defines a surfer? 20 times a year, 5 board quiver, blonde girlfriend? how many r there?

    i'll guess:
    500,000 surfers/1=500,000/78=6410 (fatal life time) 1 in 6410

    500,000/59=8475/78=108 (attacks life time) 1 in 108

am I wrong? I have been drinking ice house edge (oh so ghetto)
    What's the right math?
The weak number is life expectancy, should be
how many years surfing (average) say 20 years.
    so:
    500,000 /20=25,000
    500,000/59-8475/20=424

Your numbers are way off. There is no one in the USA that doesn't surf anymore, so start with 350,000,000, everybody in the USA.

Wait, you're drinking ice house? I didn't know people who had internet access drank ice house lol.

You lost me on the math. I also didn't read the articles so maybe thats the missing piece. My brain only likes math that involves dollar signs.

That was the main point of the 1st article.

Reading comprehension requires the actual act of reading.

I know, i know, math and reading all in the same thread, that's a bit much to ask on swellinfo
