Just as long as we're rebuilding other countries, who cares?

But really, it was sad listening to witness accounts of the carnage on local radio this afternoon.

That's why we need self driving cars.

Yep. Almost got t-boned earlier today. Fortunately I saw them coming out of the corner of my eye and slowed as they obliviously blew through the red light. Probably texting or otherwise distracted.

LOL Just thought you guys would want to know what happened, in case you didn't hear about it and in case you happen to know anybody who was there and could be one of the injured. IDK, being thoughtful I guess. I know lots of people on here are from NJ and all.

I heard about this during work today. Didn't read the article or see anything on tv yet, so if I'm missing something chime in.....BUT don't trains have built in safeties? In almost positive they do. Like if the conductor has a heart attack, the train should still stop because of said safeties. So the fact that the train didn't stop kinda raises some questions in my mind.

Yes there are safety systems, but because the Fed. Gov. is more focused on spending $$$$$$ destroying and rebuilding other countries, our infrastructure has not been updated with these new safety technologies.
Some local NY NJ train lines have them, but overall the countrie's rail system is archaic compared to places like France and Japan.
Trump made a good point during the debate.
In the past 7 1/2 years the US has spent 5-6 trillion dollars in the Middle East. Enough money to rebuild the US infrastructure twice.
    Thanks Obama and Ms. Piggy.

Pretty gnarly, bunch of dudes I work with take that train into the city. Thankfully most everyone is safe. Makes you not want to sit in the first car, they're always the ones that get the worst of it whenever something like this happens.
