Well eat my f*uck! At 11 pm it's 160 mph! Cat 5! They've also shifted the track further west so I'm well within the cone of death as are half the Florida Swellers now. Still waiting for Frankie MacDonald to weigh in on this one.

Well, it will weaken a bunch crossing over the terrain of Cuba but any 100+ mph hurricane is still a mama trucker. I hear ya but for various reasons we likely won't evacuate. And you ain't out of the woods yet either. Still many days out and much can and will change.

Peak here is 13.3 @ 12. The effect is the same. There's one place here that can maybe handle that but it's a long paddle.

"Hurricane Warning issued for Jamaica and Haiti, Hurricane Watch Issued for Cuba.

Forecast track shifts a bit east, with high uncertainty in the longer range, chance for direct import on Florida is greatly reduced, but not eliminated. Bahamas likely will be dealing with the system after Cuba/Haiti, and Mid Atlantic to Northeast still needs to monitor it. Florida just needs to be on alert for any changes."

Track looks worse for surf. Might be too close to the coast now...Kinda bummin if this holds. We (Fla) may get an ok day Saturday. Still time for it to move a little further East.

Too early to tell, just sit back and watch what he does. Track will continue to change.

    Flhurricane.com:

"18Z GFS run starts it moving northwest immediately clips the very western tip of Haiti late Monday night, then over eastern Cuba. Rides up through the central Bahamas, turns northeast east of Mytle beach, clips or just east of Hatteras, October 9th, landfall Buzzards Bay, MA, on Monday October 10th. Very far out and likely will change again.

Takeaways, Florida threat continues to slowly decrease, still a good threat to north Carolina and the Northeast, but many days for that to verify. Nowhere is in the all clear yet, though."

SwellInfo forecast has got us at 6-8 @ 12 here with offshores for Friday. Preliminary sand reconne indicates close out city except maybe the reef break. Saturday should be suite, though, but it all depends on the swell angle with our narrow window. South Beach will be firing typical A-frames but I don't venture south of the county line.
