Thought everyone would appreciate this video of master shaper Terry Martin hand-milling a very appealing longboard as he shares his personal philosophy on surfboard craftsmanship. Makes me feel a little guilty about buying an epoxy (which is my go-to board on many occasions), since those boards are putting people like him out of business... http://vimeo.com/5429023
Thanks for the post, if the industry was better I would love to go into a shaping business. My friend Axel Moore introduced me to shaping in the beginning of the summer. I just recently repaired an Al Merrick whose nose was completely torn off, hope to post pics up sometime..
Nice vid. I started shaping not long after I first learned to surf. At the time it was for economical reasons, but I've found that I take nearly as much gratification from shaping as I do from riding. Glassing is a completely different monster however.
Great Shaping video, can't wait to get my next blank. mOtion732 that was an awesome find thanks for posting it, I love those funky shapes. Do you remember Motions surf shop?
