Walk it out as far as you can then wait for lull, then paddle. Walk out in the rip, not impact zone

These days I often find myself looking at the crowd in the water and the ****ty east coast waves and finding myself hesitant to bother paddling out. I find it helps to get into my wetsuit at the house so when I get to the beach I feel obligated to at least paddle out.

Putting wetsuit on at house is always a good way to force yourself to go out.
But if it's way beyond your skill or comfort level, don't go.
If it looks intimidating, but do-able, just paddle out and sit and wait. Take it all in and take off on some smaller ones that you are comfortable with. They will be out there too.
Going out with someone, a friend or even just an acquaintance helps.
Get comfortable in the water no matter what. Swim when you can, dive etc. Go out in ****ty conditions when it's windy. It all helps.

Pee in your suit in the parking lot. That will obligate you to go out or go home with stink suit

Man, that's an awful lot of sand to reconne. I know you're up to the task though frosty.
