I feel like I'm watching some short film about the herd animals in Africa getting picked off by the hyenas.

Well dude, you took my statement out of context somewhat. I'll give a brief explanation:

First, I'm envious that Slash went to Indo. Something I've always wanted to do but haven't. Had the funds, but always took the "easy way" by continuously going to Mex. Not Indo, but makes me happy.

My intent was to point out that if you are going to be a strong advocate for a group of people you believe are unfairly oppressed, then "be the change" you talk so vociferously about. Instead of being selfish with your money and your time, then donate both to your cause. I'm betting that Slash has never donated either, and would be better served towards that end by actually helping the alleged oppressed...or joining the Peace Corps. But that means he would actually have work for a living ("work", meaning "manual labor").

I can understand how you would misinterpret that. But we're still cool, right?

    Right?

Busting my balls for going to Indo?

You're right, it was expensive. And it was awesome. Every country I have been to has been awesome, every state has been great, and if I could do it all over again, I would spend every cent every time.

Most of the guys here get stoked for each other. But you? Just a nasty old prick I suppose.

You're nothing but an irritable inflated ego, sadly struggling to cobble together the pieces of your fragile masculinity. Is that why you spend your final days bragging and insulting on the internet? Because it makes you finally feel like a man?

I guess you posted before I could respond to BassMon, so just read the post above yours and weep.

Nah brah, I'm stoked you got to go to Indo and travel the world. Really. Just trying to make the point that I already made above. If you're so up-in-arms about the people you perceive as "oppressed", then do something about it instead of just railing against conservative members on a surf forum. By continuing your current path, you end up nothing more than a talking head...just like your avatar.

"Inflated ego"? Gosh. I don't see you throwing that type of rhetoric around when your buddy Codfish brags about his life and job. Which basically makes you a hypocrite on the same scale as Codfish: that is, large. I wouldn't necessarily call it "inflated"...more like "confident".

I'm also confident in my masculinity. I'm also confident in your lack of same, ManBunWuss.

BTW, isn't this "bragging"? Why yes...yes it is.

BTW: isn't this "insulting"? Why, yes...yes it is.

Are you sadly struggling to cobble together the pieces of your fragile masculinity? Do you finally feel like a man?

I said it before, and I'll say it again: HYPOCRITE

I don't know man. Ones views and a surf trip are two completely diffrent things. I don't really know what your talking about specifically, but regardless. Slash is alright in my book. Was supposed to surf with him and peajay once, didn't get to meet him. But Iv heard good things.

Now stop this crap and let's talk about the fact that the 2ndlight thread got locked.

It makes me sad that ultimately, it was focking political threads that caused a lot of bad blood between forum regulars.

Austin, supermod crew, and the trolls certainly contributed, but you know why Peajay left? Because of political threads, and all the bullsh!t associated with them.

POLITICS, dudes. What the fock, we're supposed to be the last remaining members of an outlaw culture that is getting ruined by the collective pussification of America. WE are supposed to be carrying that torch, and here we are, bleating like a bunch of sheep about two people that never have, and never will, given two sh!ts about us. We're supposed to be outliers who see the truth, but we've joined the lemmings.

I'm disappointed in all of you that took the political sh!t so seriously, and got butthurt about it, and carried a grudge due to opposing philosophy. We all ruined swellinfo.

I love all of you, in terms of the regular crew, but we all contributed to the demise of what we had. Discussing political theory is one thing, but threads running 100 plus pages about Donald focking Trump do not need to exist. Or Hillary focking Clinton.

We are all shamed in defeat.

I really didn't even click on the political threades and I stay out of the bickering and name calling. Betcha can't recall one time I got into it with another member. HA HA (Even though sometimes I want to!) Anyway, it does suck to see what is going on here right now! I did sign up on 2ndlight, but it actually made me kind of sad. It's like a marriage, you stick with it through the good and bad. So even though this place is going through some changes, I still feel like you guys are fam and even though I don't post as much, I am still here.

    Slide on brother

Take a deep breathe my brother. It's not as bad as it seems. This too shall pass. Vote to make SI Great Againe. I addressed the politics as well.

Right on duder. Hey, just an FYI, I was enjoying the political threads as none of it upsets me. I don't know why it does for some, but for me it's just fun conversation. But I do see how it has caused some issues and it's not just here, it's happening IRL. This election has a lot of stress built into it, and we're right on the cusp of finding out if our Country is going down the tubes or if we are headed for greater things. Personally I try to think positively and hope for the best. I think once it's over, people will be able to simmer down, hopefully. If not, we always have SI and surfing. I'll leave it at that.

Just advocating for the devil...didn't you say you weren't talking politics no mo? Italicized wreaks of political undertones.

But why? Because it's the most divisive thing to talk about, now we can go down the rabbit hole as to why that is, but ultimately it's about ego. When people speak as authoritatively about something that impacts us all in varying degrees, and imply that they're right because this, you're wrong because that, you're stupid for believing this, it gets taken personal.

And guys like me, that watch from the sidelines, laugh at it all. It's all a big joke.

You're witnessing the fall of the current equivalent of the Roman empire. And that's not meant to be taken as unpatriotic. I love this continent and I love America. I'm not gonna burn a flag, but I don't feel compelled to bow down to one either. But it's all mental masturbation.
