Had to takesometimeand post up here. For years I used this site only for wave forecasts and never browsed the forum. One day I started reading some that had interesting titles related to surfing that where informative, most titles just done to death with the same ol'. I felt some of the other vets of surf saw this too and with satire ripped a lot of the nonsense apart. I liked that.
Also, I want to add, your a bunch of good shmo's on this here forume.
Surfing will always be surfing for the one having fun.
Even if it's at someone else's expense obviously.

 

I came here because it was started by a local guy and the two other local forums were dying off. One of those is still going but there are just a handful of people that still post and reply there. I made some good friends on that forum that are now hidden among the SI populous.

 

She didn't become one, she's been one all along. Just a know-it-all with no humility and a strong smattering of 'I'm so much better than everyone else'.

Used to post on NESurf back in the day, but they sold the site and it died a slow death. Missed the banter among fellow surfers, and needed a distraction from work and found this place. I also came for the chicks.

I came for the forecasts and general surfing info because I was a beginner. Lurked in the phorumme for a while. Couldn't view the attachments so I created an account. Began posting and slowly worked my way into the line up. I promptly became an asshole. I've become friends and surfed with several members here and that is great and I like that all the time. I'm still a beginner but I'm a less sh!tty beginner now. I'm still an asshole as well.

 

forum related - not to take anything from the community...but boredom mostly and the lack of surf to fill the void.
