    They know exactly what they are doing.

    They perceive a certain percentage of people are driving the site in a direction which they don't necessarily want it to go.

    OTOH, they know they can rely on another certain percentage of people who will give them the "clicks" they need to keep the site alive.

    So how do you engineer the site to get rid of the perceived issues, while at the same time cultivate it into the site you wish for it to become?

    Simple. Instead of a willy-nilly approach of chasing after all the bad sheep, you go after the shepard. Disperse with the shepard, and the sheep will follow.

    In their place, eventually, new members will spawn.

    Probably off topic but I don't get this. Aren't all of the jobs you just listed largely done by Latinos and immigrants? Line up here (RI/MA) is at least 60% middle-aged to retired white guys with pretty nice trucks, SUVs and wagons.

    The problems with the admins has nothing to do with class, get real.
