i know patience is key in surfing but i just started in feb. and im hooked, after the worst summer of my life (due to all ive been wanting to do is surf, and no tropical activity has come this way) i just wanna ask, when does surf start to pick up? and i would also like to know why its better in fall/winter

    I would say Nov-Feb

and i think it has to do with there being alot of fronts in the winter

ya usually right b4 a cold front that south wind kicks up the waves then as soon as that coldfront that north/northwest wind hits it cleans it up but you have to be there right when it hits, the stronger the north wind the quicker itll blow flat.

Not a TX surfer, but it seems that when you get those moving cold fronts moving from west-to-east in the winter time is the best. You get a tropical storm every once in awhile, but the gulf has not been good to anyone this season (so far). Plus, less crowds and people in the winter. Gotta love that.
