Mitchell, can you give me the skinny on that swell? 3X OH beach break where guys were getting towed out and into waves. Of course, all we see is the perfect A-frames. Was it really that good? Or was it more like OBSF, where the inside is like a churning cauldron and most of the sets were closed out and unmakeable? Regards, - The SwellInfo Team
Yeah...i literally popped over the dune expecting it to be solid and saw Vince Boulanger drop into that beast above within seconds. Glad i had my camera with me. One more from that day:
Not at all closed out or unmakeable. Like BIG 10 second period windswell. I dont remember exactly what the swell setup was. At least in the Delmarva it was just a big short period wind swell so the waves were steep enough and a-framey enough people (not me) were paddling in. Nobody was towing or stepping off while i was there. Vince B. was killing it (but so were many others). Really miss watching him surf.
That's just crazy dude, absolutely epic. I just remember looking at the pics and reading at least one write-up about that Colin Herlihy guy towing in to those monster OCMD barrels with a handful of other local boys...at least that's how I remember it. I wondered how gnar gnar it was and if it could be paddled out to. Hell, who am I kidding. It's not like I would've paddled out into that anyways lol
