Damn! .....like a switch had been turned on , Bill, then TS Danny, then a little windswell...what the hell happened to the hurricanes!? I wait and wait all year for September and I'm not complaining, we had 3 out of 4 weeks with some good swell, but please don't tell me that's it!!!!!! I know it's still early, but looking at this forecast I'm starting to panic...not good, glad I booked that trip to Costa Rica!

it was predicted to be an average or slightly below average season, but thus far its been far below average. The quietest tropics I can remember. Having said that, there has been a good amount of surf this September from non tropical systems.

Well, once again I've been landlocked in CO since August 31st. So I can truly say that I am a nuetral 3rd party on this topic.

That being said. That september looked like the best I've ever seen in my life. It seemed like every single hurricane just marched right up the eastern seaboard, and from the looks of it every one of those storms had favorable winds.

More often than not, this is how I've felt when I look at reports in Rodanthe for the past month

Love a good chocolate stout. Basil T's here in NJ makes an excellent one.

it's been a complete disappointment. maybe this newest tropical wave will get itself together and give us a little love.

perhaps H season has been a little bit of a letdown but the summer has been good to us considering most summers are dead flat. Don't lose sight of that.

I read the farmers almanac in hatteras a few weeks ago and it looks like it will be a great winter for both snowboarding and surfing. Eat your wheaties boys cause the winter is gonna be non-stop trips from the beach to the mountains!

Good God, I hope that almanac is right...I'm not complaining, we've had some great days this year...I just want another taste....I love it!

I don't know about tropical swells, but this afternoon and evening was very fun in ocmd. Occasional head high spitting barrels and some nice shoulders. I will take the sneaky swells with five guys in the water compared to the hyped up tropical swells with hundreds of buoys with boards strapped to their legs in the water.

Yeah, yesterday around 1-4pm was a surprise in uptown OCMD. Good enough to fall asleep on the couch after.

    el nino

el nin(y)o is what's causing the weak hurricane season, but should have good winter stuff, which i prefer considering jersey crowds.
