Why are you obsessed with me, kid? You started off with so much promise here.

    OK, here ya go:
    Nov 9-13 Sayulita
    Nov 22-27 Saladita
    Dec 3 - 10 in CR
So, to directly answer your pop quiz it was Dec 10 in Costa Rica was my last surf. Sucks, I know, it's been 17 days of not surfing, just working. So it goes, kid, so it goes.

I'd return the quiz to you but.....I don't care.

Bummer. We don't need sections, they just disrupt the flow of the conversation. What's the point? Anything else you wanna disrupt here?

Schooled by Betty once more. Why not fix the disfunctional user profile and control panel sections? I still can't find where to edit my location. And what the hell is a 'Surf Crew' anyway? Anybody use this or know what it's for?

Hahahaha Austin your so bad at your job it's humorous. First all the bannings, which I'm not going to get into. Then when literally every post in this thread was against the idea, you decide to do it anyway. Really man? I'm not trying to bash you but you make it hard. I get there are certain things you have to do that the community doesn't like, such as the porn bannings. But this isn't somthing you have to do. Not one person was for this idea. Do you intentionally do the opposite of what the community here wants? I don't get it

dang, Yank, intl traveler over there. Good for you man. I got a bud who's turning 40 next year, and he's been talking about surfin in Mexico - mentioned Puerto Escondido. I'll have to put this in my memory bank, in case he proceeds to talk things further, for advice

He will love it, hope he packs a bag & just goes. point especially can get crowded, and the drop-ins & burns seem worse in MEX than anywhere I've been, but those waves are something else

none of this addresses the systemic issues we have been facing:

    1. Admins who dont get surf culture (things like earning your spot and respect, hazing ect)
    2. Noobs who expect instant acceptance
    3. People peddling agendas

Just to be clear, I had no idea that they were already working on doing something like this and I had not discussed it with anybody prior to posting the thread.

This was just a random thought I had brought it up for discussion. Hopefully they take the feedback provided from this thread and use it to consider what they are doing, before doing it.

Oh sure. We all know you're in cahoots with the mods. :D

I wouldn't be counting on that. Nobody ever listens to Turtle.

I guessing none of that stuff matters to "Carbon Media Group" (definitely not surfers), so by extension to the Swell info admins. Growing the number of clicks and harvesting lots of user information to sell means a lot more than preserving some sort of surf culture feel in the forum. Letting the established regulars regulate the spot is pretty much of opposite of what they are into.

simple..a;; swellinfo members should get some type of either free ipo shares when this company goes public or a % if they stay private

One must keep in mind that this site is no longer owned by a local bodyboarder turned surf forecaster. He cashed out some time ago. Don't expect this place to revert to the good old days. It will more likely evolve into being one of thousands of generic and lifeless internet destinations selling some sort of lifestyle. Establish now whatever contacts you might wish to maintain in the future and enjoy this place while it's still around.

Aw man, I haven't thrown in the towel yet. Just trying to keep a realistic view. A couple of Carbon Media Group's other websuites are Homesteading Today and Garden Tractor Talk.

But it's not over till it's over. As in life, enjoy what you have while it's here.
