you're an idiot for talking about something you have never done or understand. Your name has sup in the handle??? Just another loud mouth kook barking on the internet without anything to back it up in real life. Ill enjoy flying my kite while you sit on the beach and wax up your fun shape so you can call yourself a "real surfer". Your a joke
We have really gotten close minded and angry lately... Reminds me of getting in drunken fist fights in college over hardcore punk and speed metal. Go surf...
LOL The good ole days. I personally don't have a problem with kite surfing or kite surfers, I simply stated why I wouldn't want to mess with it myself, and the guy got all butt hurt and went after me. My comment wasn't meant in a negative way. I wasn't putting the sport down or saying people shouldn't do it, but he must of took it that way based on his sensitive response. Did he even go after the OP who posted this thread? lol
^You were replying to Val. https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1-Corinthians-15-23/ Perhaps 'tis because woman comes from man. "Ha"!
Yankee, and other awesome SI members, this morning at dawn, I put "her" on my ignore button. It's a wonderful thing. No longer is the elegance of the threads conversation interrupted. To me it was like I was listening to some excellent music and suddenly awful AM radio came in and interrupted the zen of the moment. You might like it too...

^This is rather interesting. The website appears to have been hacked, since I first accessed it. I had entered "man", and the website provided the origins of the word. I had then entered "woman", and it did the same. It showed that, as I had previously stated, the word "woman" came from "man", tracing it back many centuries and countries; however, now it fails to do so. I had accessed it, prior to my post on the last page, but I will continue to tinker with it, and see if I can fetch the results once again. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php
I am able to fetch the result, again, and will see if it can be accessed, once the link is posted in two ways: Man: http://www.etymonline.com/?allowed_in_frame=0&search=man http://www.etymonline.com/?allowed_in_frame=0&search=man Woman: http://www.etymonline.com/?allowed_in_frame=0&search=woman http://www.etymonline.com/?allowed_in_frame=0&search=woman And Betty, I do not know why you would take issue with putting man before woman; I have no problem with it, as a woman, myself. I personally have great respect for man.
My wife got into it last year, so I figured I'd give it a try. Marriage lesson of the day, don't easily learn something that took your wife a long time. Kitesurfing is as much like surfing as websurfing (I refer to it as 'kiteboarding' and get those around me to do the same), but it's a lot of fun, especially you like wakeboarding and don't own a boat.
I am fortunate to have shot some pro wakeboarders, but I have never asked the men if any of them crossed into kitesurfing; it would seem to make sense, though.
Your always an inspiration! Thank you Betty, it works just as you say! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...... (sigh of relief)
Ah yes back to kites. I really don't have any issues with these people and their sport only when it's done in a line up of stand up paddlers. Probably a great way to commute to work across the bay but if the wind stopped... That would suck and ruin my Armani suite. My daughter as a child was afraid of kites, apparently it is fairly common phobia and maybe kiters have a phobia about being IN water and that's called, "drowning"
I seriously doubt that the "kiters" have a phobia of hitting the water with power, because it is much more forgiving than land. Take the previously posted video, as example: I have heard from the motocross riders crossing over to those style of jet skis I shot, that water is MUCH more forgiving than land, same principle.
