I wanted to create a safe space for my fellow snow lovers of the Northeast to come and cry and feel safe. Its ok for men to cry. If you have any stories you'd like to share of winters past, trips to places where it actually snows a lot and doesn't rain in the heart of the winter, feel free to do so here.

I'll start. Early this winter I treated myself to a Lib Tech / Mayhem Short Fat. Its still wrapped in plastic. I haven't even bothered to switch the bindings. I had a day off planned for yesterday which I put on my company calendar last week with reports saying Vermont might get 2 feet. Sugarbush, my preferred hill, received 2 inches of wet snow and got rained on pretty heavily. I removed the day off and came to work. To date, I've been on the mountain 3 times and all 3 times its been classic Vermont conditions - packed "powder", frozen granular, bullet proof ice.

Might be time to just admit that if I want to get some turns in, its going to be in a 5 mil wetsuit.

Get your violins out. Lets hear some crying. Dont be afraid. This is your safe space.

Thanks Riley. Hello everyone, I'm PA Kook and I've never had a powder day on the mountain. I board on ice and ice granules and call it snowboarding.

I have a photo of myself when extremely young, seeing snowfall for the very first time. I was five years old. My late mother told me that she looked out the window in shock, discovering that I had slipped outside, without her knowledge, in my little nighty, wearing no shoes nor socks, lol. Accumulation of snow ended up being 12", and we had a total blast. I remember it all very clearly. LOVE snow! :D

I have had some fun days on the ice in western MD and western NC. I actually scored a handful of times on the east coast. I have had a legit powder day at Wisp, but I was riding a 150 inch twin tip so it was a bit of a struggle in the deeper stuff.

Back in the day I would go to the mountain if there was any white stuff to ride. A few beers and a little ganja can make the worst conditions fun and challenging.

I just pretend I'm surfing and even the worst runs are like the wave of my life.

Don't know much about EC skiing, but isn't your powder usually found in Vermont?

Otherwise, best options are to spring for the extra $$$ and go to the Rockies...even northern New Mexico has excellent conditions.

Can be hit or miss out here in the PNW due to rain and changing temperatures, creating the Cascade Concrete effect. A little further East towards Idaho has some fantastic semi-secret powder kegs.

Didn't you mention a while back that you don't click on any links that anyone posts on the forum? All you do is post links.

Where is your locale Sloflo? Post up a pic of that board quiver too. Add something relevant and personal to the conversation not just issue your queeries.

There are various manners of accessing tings, w/o clicking upon links. That is relevant, as have been each of my posts within this wonderful thread; plus, I shared a personal story, as well! :)
