Is Eastern Surf Magazine about to go the way of Surfing Magazine? Their print version is a shell of what it used to be and their website seems like its on life support. What's up???
honestly there's only so much you can print... everybody already knows all the players, all the spots, all the brands, and there's really nothing new happening, except for carbon fiber tail ends and blef fins. what is there to print? chicks wearing roxy's, on CI borts?
soon the fad is gonna be over, and this is a testament to such an occurrence of thereof. only one's LEEEEPHHH doing it still will be the ones that dont care about reading about it. which is a good thing, embrace it.
I believe this to be true. When I backed off of surfing after a lifetime of chasing every ripple, a lot of the people around me backed off as well. Of course the true chargers didn't and they still call to get me to go more than I actually do. But the fringe clingers have disappeared as if they were feeding off of my energy and when it wasn't there anymore they had little self motivation to do it on their own. Without the mags, there will be a few less people around. If I can sit back a few more years I could probably clear the lineup of another 5 or 6 people, lol.
Let's face it, the web is quickly killing print media. Magazines and newspapers are becoming obsolete. It costs a lot of money to print and distribute print media. Heck, even chat rooms like this forum are becoming history, being used by older people who haven't quite kept up with the more tech savvy younger generation.
That is great news!! Another one bites the dust!! Now, SURFER has got to go as well, both print and web. Do everything you can to usher in their demise......
sheeeeeeeeeit idk about that one see esm always been free,if u can find a surfshop that had em.there issues kept the stoke alive back when I first started ,when there wasn't si and surfline and **** like that, idk maybe surfline was around lol idk.i even got featured in it,pretty funny, probably 2004 or 2005. its funny a lot of the "who da guy" features were a bunch of nobodies back then and now they are like the most respected guys on the eastcoast.always been a fan of them
