out surfing and my toes on the right foot cramped up . I had to stop and head back to the beach and take the boot off a work it out . Its such a miserable feeling . Anyone else get a cramp at the toes ? whats the cause , dehydration , fatigue , etc . Any insight
Yeah I get them, shin cramps, hip cramps and the horizontal muscle at the bottom of the rib cage. Usually after two hours, or if I go full bore for too long. Only thing that helps me is to get out every 45 minutes, rest five minutes, drink more liquid. The hip cramps are incapacitating. Last weekend my friend had to pull me out of the water. It sucks.
Absolutely no need for boots today in NJ. U deserved a toe cramp for wearing rubber on your feet! Today was a funamonel day on the Island!

There are many factors of having leg cramps. Sometimes tight, inflexible and unconditioned muscles may be level to have cramps or stress can be factors that causes muscle tension. In research it has been proven that having a warm bath in walk-in bathtubs at the end of the long day is one of the best methods for reducing stress and offering good sleep. Last month my brother was also having leg cramps as a doctor has suggested to have a warm water bath by installing a walk in tub in Spokane Valley, because these bathtub had a feature of hydrotherapy jets that helps to reduce stress and joint pain, and can decrease swelling and inflammation and helps to increase the circulation of the body.
Muscle cramps are usual due low levels of potassium or other electrolytes. As O'bagus mentioned above, include a banana daily in your diet, BUT, truth be told, one banana a day doesn't give you enough K+ unless you eat about 12 feet of it. Try a K+ supplement as well if the banana doesn't work. Also, reduce your alcohol intake or coffee, or both. They make your kidneys work overtime and cause the ion exchange (salt for K+) at your distal loops to work against your efforts to stay proper K+ levels. Not only will your skeletal muscles thank you, so will your cardiac muscles. If that doesn't work, do what we surfers routinely do--bang hindu chicks fervently.
