I know there are other threades about music, yadda yadda. This is about your favorite. I like a lot of music, from DMX to Charlie Daniels to Silversun Pickups (photo attached, ha) to Dead Mouse to Led Zeppelin. But one of my favorites is the Smashing Pumpkins. What is your favorite?

weird. I had't been interested in Smashing Pumpkins in years, but about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I somehow listened to the Siamese Dream Album, and was taken back at how good it is. I mean, I listened to it a bunch when it came out, but listening to it now years later, it's really solid.

I listen to a lot of random ****e. The other day the movie Sixteen Candles came on, which prompted me to listen to "Ring Me Up" by the Divinyles in it's entirety a few times.

My 4 year old daughter makes me put on old Metallica, AC/DC and Incubus (Science) when I take her to school. She also likes Johnny Cash. Not sure where her tastes are coming from but I kind of like it.

I made a mountain bike track that spans Tool, Nas, Pantera, The Cult and U2, none of which really go together, but I like it all.

I used to love Led Zeppelin, but I burned out of them a bit. I had a sweet Led Zeppelin Patch on my Jean Jacket Freshman Year in High school though. Went great with my Mullet.

I listen to everything, all day long.
Somehow Tangerine is always my all time, most listened to song
I can't count how many iTunes installs I've had, let alone other media players; but Tangerine is usually played in the hundreds, if not 1000s on each one
It's probably my favorite song to listen to before I surf

It reminds me that every moment is precious and fleeting
    And to enjoy them

I used to love Led Zeppelin in elementary school, when I first started taking a serious interest in music. Same with Rush and Boston.

I started listening to punk and hardcore when I was about 13 or so. I still listen to a lot of that. The Clash has been one of my favorite bands since then and still is to this day. I love a lot of the LA stuff too, like Bad Religion, Agent Orange, Black Flag. The DC stuff like Minor Threat. I love New York hardcore too. Youth Of Today, Gorilla Biscuits, Cro Mags. Really into Suicidal Tendencies and SOD.

I've listened to that stuff for over 30 years now and I still do to this day.

I really like early Smashing Pumpkins. Gish and Siamese Dream are awesome, as is most of Mellon Collie. Everything after that is awful IMO and not all that listenable to me.

I toss in some Rage Against the Machine every once I a while, too.

EatS, yeah, some of their newer stuff isn't as good as their older stuff, I agree. I still like some punk, I was just sitting at work jamming out to some Black Flag and Suicidal the other day.

I'm a pretty big fan of Suicidal, up until the early 90's. That's when they lost me and all but Mike Muir were replacements.

I like all Black Flag, even in their twilight era. Most don't agree with me on that. A lot of my friends end it after My War and some after Damaged.

I have allot of diffrent tastes. I could go on and on naming bands but ill keep this short to just a few genres.

Newer indie music. Portugal the man is my favorite. Seen them a bunch live. There starting to get big but they have been around for years. Quite a few albums, all a diffrent subs but all dann good. Minus the bear and modest mouse are some other favs.

Rap- I'm an old school NY rap guy. Big L, Big pun, onyx, wu-tang.

Rock- incubus, tool, and deftones. Love those three bands so much. Lots of talent

Older rock- zepplin is all time. Pink Floyd (echos live in pompeii. YouTube it. So damn tight). The allman brothers.

Death metal/hardcore - this is what i grew up on. Winds of plague. Pantera. Hatebreed. All shall perish. Sworn enemy. A ton more but those are the favs.

Acoustic - citizen cope. Neil young. Andrew bird

Like i said i can go on and on. Music is big in my family and me my pops and my sister are constantly finding new music and sharing it with each other. But those are some of my favs in some diffrent genres.

Jimmy Page at his best, instrumentally speaking.

I do really like Metalica, but nothing after ''And Justice For All....''

I get sad when listening to any of their stuff after that, with how downhill they went.
I saw some of GB's first shows. I knew a couple of them even before they had formed Gorilla Biscuits. I only go to a handful of shows per yer these days, but GB at This Is Hardcore was one of them last year. Saw Youth Of Today a few nights before that at This Is Hardcore in Philly.
Definitely! I have to listen to that one day. I have some Zeppelin on vinyl from when I was a kid. It's around here somewhere or in one of the 54059405940 closets I have.

I like Hardcore, I like Glam Rock, I like 80's New Wave, I like Indie...

There is still some good new music coming out, but you have to look for it. I have Sirius radio and I wade through a lot of crap, but there is always something new that's worth listening too.
Also Pandora is a great way to find new stuff similar to what you may already like.

I hate (strong word) people who are stuck in the past and only listen to what they listened to in high school or college.

Word. Don't get me wrong. The stuff i listened to in high school i still like. But there's do much good music out there. But you have to go out and find it. Radio stations play crap imo. I use spotify. They got little playlists that habe similar sounding bands. Don't use it much honestly for that though. Like i mentioned earlier, everyone I'm close to is really into music and most are musicians themselves. We fund music and share it. Hey dude check out this band type of thing.

Point is they're still people putting out good music. Just gotta go out and find it.

Does this mean you hate Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart???
