OK there is a swell coming that's over head high, if you can't paddle in maybe you should stay on the beach. Keep your ski the flups out of OCMD. The coastguard has been notified and asks us to call them if the stepoff doughs show their shameful faces. I don't care how many surfline pictures you get; it's stupid. Some of us OCMD surfers actually like a challenge; go figure! Good hunting, stay safe and keep your tip up.
Be serious stepoffs are a bigger threat then global shredding. I heard next year they are holding a WOTW stepoff category, Worldwide, ( only under 6ft). Be weary that stepoffs are imminent at your local beach. (Stepoffs won't divide us!) ( OCMD is taking our spot back )
If you don't need a rope don't use a choke just a couple of strokes to invoke your stoke! Get Gnarley
what clownface rant really says. "I will be surfing midtown with the rest of the OCMD zoo (presumably so someone will take a pic of him) and if you come and do step offs I will tell mommy on you". Meanwhile the rest of us will be surfing in peace and quiet at all the other spots oblivious to the big showdown (away from the cameras) with our friends who also don't give a chit about step offs, step ons, tow ins, paddle ins, days inn etc.
lol u just solved a longtime mystery for me on why everyone, pros and kooks alike will all flock to the same peak while its empty and pumping as far as the eye can see. I guess its kind of hard getting in a pic when theres pros out there doing step offs lol
Best thought would be to do your call around/ride around and find a good spot. And as has already been mentioned, plenty of individual peaks here and there. It can be tough though, at times the difference in ten blocks can be significant. It can be reversed as well, but it is far less often. I think everyone should do a meet and greet at mid-town, ski and all, and we can give it a look see and throw a vote out on conditions. Or we can all just get into a huge brawl on the beach and film it, make it go viral, get famous (for those not already), get laid, etc, etc. At this point I am looking forward to someone showing up with a ski and seeing what happens.
With the way the winds are all over the place, if I had the time and a ski I would be checking out spots an Hour south of Ocean City. It looks like the winds are going to be way better there and much sooner in the morning. Due to the swell direction this would be a perfect time to "Search" in the morning, maybe even score epic, then return north for afternoon golden hours and clean up with big OCMD or SS. Seriously, Tuesday morning would be a great spot check/research event. BTW, anyone have the script on the Cape and how when and if it will work there during this swell event? Cape Hen that is.
I'm going to flip the flups out if a ski shows up I will be there all day waiting to call the coastguard. These stepoff people deserve zero respect. I'm about to write to the guys sponsors and tell them what a fool they have representing them.
I wouldn't consider what Colin does to be actually surfing, he is not a real surfer just a gimic. He actually claims those waves he stepoffs on, how can you even consider that an accomplishment.
