From what I understand, each Orca pod is specialized in what prey it primarily eats. One may eat seals, another eats salmon, while another eats dolphin. Each pod has developed its own specialized hunting techniques, including communication, for their specific prey. The pods, even if in the same area, do not co-mingle.

Great story. We've had a lot of Orca sightings here in the last few months. Not at the beach but in the Puget Sound. Particularly the South part of the Sound near Olympia. They seem to like calmer, colder waters.

I don't ever see many seals in the Sound if ever. Must be going after salmon, otters and gooey duck.

It's obviously a serial killer orca... He rufee's the sharks and takes out the liver. Shark wakes up groggy, panics and evertually dies.

well talk about culling. let the nature do it, orcas are way more effective than nets or humans with rifles.

lets just make friends with the whalefolk. ive surfed within 100 yards of a pod on the Olympic pennisula a few years back. terrifying and awesome to see 10 fins that big right off shore.

this is true and some pods will run out other pods based on these preferences

I'm pretty sure there is no record of a orca killing a human in the wild! cant blame TILIKUM for killing that trainer! mess with a 12,000 lb animal and shatt can go deadly wrong! so smart to dissect the liver, so cool!

id say theyr equally scary lol.if I ever encountered a pod of orcas id be more scared than if there was a white near by.they cruising by with their children lol and see u as a threat who knows they might drag ur ass to the bottom of the ocean.

id much rather be eaten against my will than drowned

Just because it has not been recorded doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Bet you there are killings of humans by orcas.

Orcas aren't fish, their dolphins!I'd take my chances with s smart group of dolphins, than a dumb Arss, hungry shark any day! There's no way I'd rather be eaten than drown! Are you fkn nuts?

suffocating is my worst fear.id rather burn, get eaten lol

I figure shark gets u you will bleed out and be powerless and eventually die.its just scary that u know how to swim and completely capable with energy but u cant cause theres a 6000lb beast attached to ur foot.

like that isis video where they locked people in a cage and dropped it in a pool.worst possible death I could imagine,i would've been on of the guys with their head stuck in the bars trying to escape.
