the not guilty would have welcomed the investigation from the beginning in order to clear things up rather than obstruct, deny and tweet about it being a witch hunt. firing the guy who is investigating you doesn't have very good optics. if he was firing him for things that were done last year during the campaign, why didn't he do so on day one?

Archy your boy has a Goldman Sachs cabinet and just yesterday he was bombing Assad's people. And his man's ramping up the drug war. You got rolled by a big city con man, just cut your losses.

He has welcomed the investigation, he's said it many times, he wants it to be done thoroughly and correctly but he wants them to move on and not drag it out. When you know you've done nothing wrong and you see what it's doing to the Country, you grow impatient.

He didn't obstruct anything by telling Comey that he "hopes" he can end the investigation soon. He didn't command him to do anything. If you know you've done nothing wrong, there's nothing wrong with saying what he said. Sorry. So he can tweet all he wants and call it a witch hunt, because he knows the truth, while you and everybody else on this bandwagon have bought into the dumbest, most transparent conspiracy theory ever.

He doesn't care about the optics because he knows it's all a hoax. He's still passing the agenda whether you like or not, so in the end we all win, despite the circus that the MSM and DNC have created. Trump didn't create this, they did.

New distracting controversy? Bwahahahaha. The fukin MSM and antiTrumpers have been distracting the newcycle with nothing but distracting fake controvesies for months. Hahahaha
Of course there's tapes. You don't think everything that goes on in the White House isn't recorded? The best defense is offense. He's got Comey by the balls now. Comey is either guilty of obstructing justice by not releasing the memos earlier, or guilty of pergury for lying under oath for contradicting his own memos.
Trumps covering his ass and held his hand until the right moment to squash all these fake accusations.
F'kn a, how is he gonna run the country when he's always busy putting out fires created by a bunch of sore losers?

And you know for a fact Trump authorized those bombings? And you know all the details surrounding the in fighting within Assads regime and the details that led to those bombings?
    Yeah I didn't think so.
GS cabinet? Yeah guys that know the inner workings of the system not some newbs who wouldn't know where to start in dealing with corrupt banks.
The drug war? Yeah not a fan, but you can't win em all.
So calm down SBX, you'll be waving Zuckerberg 2020 signs in a few years.

Saying he did or did not do anything with any certainty isn't right. Nobody knows what happened on either side except people that were in the room or on the phone.
It does have to be frustrating to constantly be attacked in the news (when you are just trying to do what you think is right), but he does create just as many problems for himself as the media does... Just deleting his twitter account would eliminate half of the annoying questions he gets.
Or at least have someone you trust read the tweets before you press Share.

Point is he could avoid the whole circus by *not* tweeting stupid shiiiiit, just focus on getting stuff done instead. This giant side circus of his creation is shutting down his agenda (which I'm largely happy about btw).

interesting way to look at things. i suppose we'll find out in the coming days who said what to whom. this investigation will drag on for months btw. watergate investigation took 14 months.

right now trump and the white house do have credibility issues because they've said so many differing accounts of things. for example: when did trump decide to fire jim comey? was it some time ago as he told lester holt a week ago? or was it after he got rod rosenstein's letter (which trump instructed rosenstein to write) as he said yesterday? can't be both.

also, the optics do matter. he's the friggin' potus for cryin' out loud. his second grader like temper tantrums reflect poorly on us as a nation.

You're right, you, me or anybody not directly involved with this cluster f*ck is just guessing.

I'm going based on behavior from both sides and using my judgement / common sense on this one. I may be wrong, but I wasn't wrong about the polls, the election, or anything regarding Trump so far, so I'll stick with my theory until proven otherwise.

You may have a point on him not helping things by firing off some of the tweets he sends but it's his only way to fight back so I get it. Again, if he were guilty, I'd say he should shut up. But being attacked the way he has been, with zero evidence is just wrong and I don't blame him for fighting back at least a little.

Avoid the circus created by his opposition. So when someone accuses you of crimes you don't defend yourself?
He's squashing all accusations and the now side circus is the creation of the MSM.
Are you that thick headed? Turn off the TV and stop listening to the talking heads who's only reason for existence at this point is to bash Trump. The MSM walked away from the 4th column a long time ago.

Yep, and they are almost *all* related to Trump's tweets. If the President tweets it, does it make it fake news?

No it makes it tabloid garbage.
Rachel Madcow, that queer grey haired dude, Van Jones, that queer black dude and the rest of the talking heads wouldn't even have a job anymore if it wasn't for DJT's tweets.

I agree that the circus is slowing things down, and that is exactly what the DNC's plan is in the end. I don't they honestly believe he'll get impeached, but if they keep the heat on they can slow roll the agenda. It'll still get done, but slower. I'm happy you are "largely happy" about it btw.

I don't agree that him shutting off the Twitter will stop any of this though. No, they aren't going to stop just because he doesn't Tweet. So Tweet away, F it, everybody else is (except me).

I don't disagree with this for the most part. I do agree that he should care more about optics, for those who care about that sort of thing. Me personally, I could care less about the optics, as long as he's getting that agenda passed, which he is. The investigation will probably take forever, which will keep this in the headlines, which is what the DNC and MSM wants. After the dust settles however, things will simmer down, hopefully.

I believe Rod Rosenstein said that he knew Trump was going to fire him the day before he wrote the letter. I think Rosenstein agreed with the decision so he wrote it but when Spicer and Co. made it look like it was more his decision than Trumps, he got upset and said something and Trump went on MSM to clear it up and took ownership of the firing. I believe Spicer didn't have a heads up and so he thought that maybe trying to protect Trump was the best way to portray it because he knew what the "optics" would be. Trumps fault for not giving his boy a heads up, that's my call.

    Finally.

    U.S.
Anthony Weiner to Plead Guilty Following Sexting Probe
The charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years

Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose history of exchanging sexually explicit messages ended his political career, is expected to plead guilty Friday to a single count of transferring obscene material to a minor, according to people familiar with the matter.

The high-profile criminal probe into Mr. Weiner upended the final days of the 2016 presidential race. Less than two weeks before election day, James Comey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation director at the time, disclosed that FBI agents had discovered a laptop with emails that might be related to the probe of a private email server used by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state. The emails turned out to have been on a laptop used by Mr. Weiner and his now-estranged wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Mrs. Clinton.
