Did you find a place to camp over there? I grew up in south florida and used to surf the north side of the inlet sometimes on weekends (it was like a 45 minute drive from my house in Lantana). It was tricky parking because of the condos but if you don't mind a walk it's do-able.
Too bad you couldn't have waited it out in Bradenton. Supposed to be some glassy waves Monday afternoon.
