Maybe. A couple of commercials in circulation right now, one with Stallone and another with Dolph Lundgren. Stallone looks like Ponce de Leon's best chum...Dolph, not so much.

Youth *can* be purchased...everything has it's price.

Anyone interested should go to youtube and watch the first videos that the ethereum guys made to market their idea. It explains everything. Then, you can fast forward 4 years and read through the ethereum reddit (NOT the ethtrader reddit). Also, google "ethereum" under the "news" tab and just read. This will show you what these people have done over the last 4 years. The fact that tons of corporate bigs are currently building on the platform speaks volumes. Don't listen to what anyone tells you. Spend the time and do the research on your own. Stay away from trading oriented arenas. The idea behind this is truly the "internet 3.0", and even bigger than that. Yes, I said bigger than the internet. Pretty sure if you do the research, you'll come to the same conclusion. ETH as an investment will most definitely surpass bitcoin in the near future, but that's just the investment side of it. It's going to make alot of things you use the internet for on a daily basis, easier. Educate yourself, what's going on here is pretty sick to watch.

    Thanks 3rd person.
Yeah it's the technology behind the currency that is going to drive the currency's value IMHO.
Bitcoin for example solves issues involved with internet, bank, or, credit card transactions by cutting out an intermediary.
People like Barry are just stubborn and don't realize that all fiat currency value is based of of debt. When this debt rises the value of the fiat decreases.
Also try and travel internationally with excess amounts of money or gold. You'll be stopped and held at the border and possibly loose your money.
There are other cryptocurrencies that have exciting technologies behind it as well.

And yet, you work for a living. I don't. I retired quite early, and yet, you still work for a living. I went surfing today, and when I came back, my accounts were up; and yet, you are still working for a living.
I guess being "stubborn" pays off. And yet, you are still working for a living.
Oh...did I mention who is still working for a living????? YOU!!! And saurus as well.....
    And yet, you complain....
Think I will take a nap now....good night!!

Barry. you said "my accounts were up" So I'm assuming you've made the $$ that makes your life so comfortable by making good investing decisions based on good info and research?

    Curious how this is different?

Probably wouldn't be if I gave a rat's arse about my future when I was younger and was hip to the stock market and all that stuff instead of focusing on travelling the world over and surfing my brains out when I was in my prime, but I'm not crying aboot it.
All I'm saying is you really have argument when you criticize something you know nothing about.
Damn I'm glad I did what I did. I sure as hell would ever think twice about charging 15 foot G-land at my age now.

    Assumption^^^ on your part.

As for charging G-land or other. I would still do it. And I can still do it. Both physically and financially.
Now....do I want to do it?? Naw, it truly sounds boring at this point. Too long of a trip; there isn't enough Vicodin in the world to keep me down in a plane trip for that many hours.......

You talked about surfing Tres for the last time. What makes you think 15' G-land is less of a challenge?
I'll go as far as sayin it's way way heavier.
Boring?? Hahaha Going to France to stay at some posh farm resort sounds less exciting than driving through 10 second stand up barrels at Speedies all day.
And puhlease. Like you don't think I can't hop on a plane tomorrow and go. Dude you know nothin bout what i'm holdin financially. I actually enjoy my job, and don't have to work everyday.

See? You fell for my bait.
You are just like me. You can, but you don't.
And I liked work a lot as well, because I had a great job, great company.
And yes...surfing for me has gotten boring. For me it is nothing more than a way to burn of calories and annoy morons. Which it seems a path you are following.
You are free to leave the Temple, grasshopper!!!

One of my surfing girl friends (friend only) pointed her finger at me and said,"You are getting jaded!!".
I said, "Really D!ck Tracy? Me???"
All that because I replied to a question with "The surf sucks today". It did.....

    Interesting, but speculation.
And what is "non correlated trading strategies"??
All trading is correlated in one way or another. Even if you buy land/property, the price, tax, and future value is dependent on market pricing. Everything is correlated. Even your cherished Bitcoin type of investments will be.
Recession?? Ride them out. I have ridden out quite a few--I am still breathing, not selling pencils on street corners, and with no emerging need to go back to work.
    Next topic of panic, please......

not panic, but I guess you are nearsighted

300 trillion in unfunded liabilities? tell me how that is normal and fine

9 billions human virus by 2050, thats a lot of hungry people.

the economic growth must continue to grow infinitely for it to work, economy is a subsystem within planet earth, a finite system

cant fit infinity in a finite system, boundaries will be found, painfully

you familiar with the S-shaped growth curve when a population of bacteria reaches K in a petri dish?

exchange bacteria for humans and petri dish for planet

tell me everything is all good at such time as 'T' when the slope is negative

This is not business as usual

grief/famine/war etc unless things change, it will start with increased war and then a monetary reset

but I understand you're fine with it, you dead soon oldie, I gotta live in this mess

    That was a mouth full...

I think the birth/death ratio globally is 2/1 or something like that. So, your assumptions that something has to give is right on from a "finite system" standpoint - hunger/famine will likely be relegated to 3rd world countries for your lifetime though...especially with the other part of your point-economics/currency. The first world countries have luxuries that may prolong the inevitable (inflation, GDP data, natural resource stockpiles and currency controls.

I still remain cautiously optimistic (maybe naïve) about the world and this virus you speak of. Even with some tinkering with currency/inter-continental debt etc., we will probably see some serious wartime and human casualty even in our lifetimes...we have been there and moved on globally. The next big one may involve devastating results (nuclear), that could create massive voids in the human race and create mass chaos...this is the one thing I worry about most

I am working on a combined 3-5% of my portfolio (equal to my gold and silver holdings) holdings in both ethereum and bitcoin. I also think some of the technology companies that will "emerge" with Ethereum will be interesting speculative plays...I have much to learn here though.
