Nice town...my wife is from Trois-Rivieres. We just got back visiting friends in Ottawa. Hope you enjoy your seashore adventure. Save a Labbat for me!!
Thanks Barry,(for being nice too I grew up in Ottawa and my wife was born in Port Cartiert.. Beautiful part of the country. Just got some head high super windy peaks.. Had to get out it was so windy. Labbat 50 saved. For some reason, the 50 brewed in Quebec in quarts tastes WAY better.
when looking at buoy reports be sure to note swell direction. news to factor buoy position as well. you can have an offshore buoy showing 10ft of swell but if direction is off it can pass you right by. the fisherman on here know this. you can leave inshore calm seas then end up in 10ft swell. point being - it's tricky. it helps to know the area.
Good point smitty. The SE angle of these 18 second waves has a finite window to travel past Brazil (which will virtually miss anywhere south of Hatty probably). Also, as it crossed that window moving below Africa the angle will change. I surfed some summertime long period small waves producing 15 seconds from high pressures south...I am curious to see if those 18s hit here. Picturing the 9'6" racing thigh highs for 200 yards...one can hope.
I'm thinking about driving down because I'll be in VA when it hits. Seems to be the most logical option considering continental shelf and the long period...
Dude when i was at cape may for basic early this year, there was a day of 10-14 and it was glassy and super clean. Too bad i was in a wheelchair at the time and not allowed to get near the water Edit: 420th post. 420 blaze it and praise it
Wowzers! I thought this was a joke at first. 21 secs? I must claim ignunce of such events, especially here in the Gulf. I'm lookin at some of the NE forecasts for next Thursday, and there it is. Some of y'all have experience with such surf? I'm tryna imagine what that would look like when you're sittin out there on your bort watchin the horizon.
Hi Mr Canuck. You ever met the McKenzie brothers? I ain't sure they're really Canadians, but they're funny as heck. I think they like Molson vs Labatt. Made some commercials on the TV.
Hey Mr. Barry. Just playin. You ain't heard of the McKenzie brothers, EH? I don't know Labatts from Lone Star, but the McKenzie bros prefer Molson. Ya HOser.

We've gone craft indie f-head beer up here., And some of it is fantastic. Nickel Brook in Ontario, unbelievable stable of beers. Also, Great Lakes Brewery (GLB) a favourite and close to home. And yes, Labbatts rules that game for sure.
