I saw lots of suite treads, but not one on custom tailored suites. If I get a suite that fits my chest (M) it's 4 " too loose around my waist. Could carry a couple mullet in there. If I get a suite that fits my waist (XS), the compression forces on my chest would break my chestbone again, if I could ever stretch the rubber that far and get in there. I have a sleeveless vest (XS) that I somehow got into - once. I swear I could feel that bone gettin ready to pop. I cut a big hole in the back between my shoulder blades so my chest fits in there now. It's my wife beater suite. Cold is a major issue for me, so I'm really thinkin of going custom this winter, if work goes well this summer that is.
I have the same problem...well, kinda. The best "off the rack" suite I've found is a little too tight in the chest/shoulders but balloons on my arms due to my skinny forearms and wrists...the rest of the suite fits perfect. I was just about to order a custom right before I wrecked my knee. Customs are expensive considering how soon wetsuites disintegrate, but, for me, it's definitely worth a try. Only sketchy thing is getting the measurements correct.
For me it is hooded winter wetsuits. The necks are always too short, resulting in neck aches after prolonged surfing session. Yours truly, Barry "giraffe" Cuda
I believe wetsuite companies will never get it right.its hard to design a suit that will fit everyone comfortably.height and weight aren't enough. every suite I have is tight as phudge.my 6/5 takes 15 minutes to get on and probably 22 minutes to take off.its never easy lol
I believe it was wayne the insaaaane that posted that pic of him surfing in his custome wetsuite, the one with the asscheeks cut out.
LOL Yeah, I'm probably gonna go with that. I was hopin to hear from someone that got a custom and could make me feel a little better before layin out so much $. I'm not what you would call wealthy.
