Hello guys, I'm a 16 year old boy from NY. Iv realized that there is no surfing youtube for long island. I made one and post a video everytime i go surf! At the end of every month i make a edit of my best moments. ENJOY Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9RSUGr3IN0AMysChJ6pzvw Also does anyone know a novelty wave in Long Island? Like a point break type
K Ethan, nice hyper editing but your footage sucks, the soundtrack is way too dramatic for the lamo lack of rad shredding, and no rippatude: the required rippatudal level is slim to none, and Slim just left town, do ya hear what I'm sayin dawg? Other than that, nice try. Let's see some real surfing/snowboarting with the same editing skilz. Hint: Get a new team to film bro. LOL
Hey, young'n. If you knew what you was gettin into before postin in here, and still did it anyways, good on ya. I suspect you didn't know what you was finna get into, though. Only my $.02, but I ain't into the GoPro movies. Get a bud to shoot from the water up close, or someone on the beach with a long lens if you can afford it. You still gotta send pics of your Mom. She's probably the same age as my kids. Shred on homie.
focus on surfing sell the camera and buy a surfboard or plane ticket to go surf dont put any effort into filming put all your effort into surfing
Thanks for the advise. Only my second year surfing and I feel myself getting better every time. Should get better footage as time goes on. Thanks again!
I have gotten so used to the GoPro I don't notice it anymore. It also makes me very happy to watch what I have done that day when I get home. Thanks
Keep following your dreams. And go big. Become the wave. Be the boart. Get more rad. As rad as possible, at your age. If you don't crash and burn every now and then, you're not trying hard enough. Glad to see you are pushing the envelope. I hope your next video shows progress.
#advise I think you'll fit in. Already got some of the lingo down. Still need pics of your mom though. As to the videos, I won't critique their quality or whatever but do what stank says. Ditch the camera and focus on surfing. Nobody really wants to watch you surfing except you and maybe a couple of friends. Waves always look tiny with a GoPro. The joy of surfing comes from surfing not making a sick edit of surfing. I dunno. Just my opinion.
Keep surfing. More surfing, less GoPro. A lot less GoPro. You'll get more respect if you concentrate on surfing, and maybe post the occasional picture for advise instead of GP vidz. Let your mom come to the beach and take pictures of you surfing. Then once in a while you can post a couple of pictures of you surfing, and mix in a couple of pictures of your mom at the beach so we can give you the best advise. You're welcome.
My wife is still pissed that the GoPro she bought me years ago before we were married is still sitting in the box. She bought it because a buddy of mine thought I would like it. But I just didn't have it within me to actually paddle out with one attached to my boart. It puts a target on you first of all. When other surfers see that camera be prepared to be hassled if you ain't rippin with good rippatude. One time someone took a video of me and passed it to people without my consent. Deserves a beating if you ask me. But they think I don't know who done it. Sad but true. Anyways, ditch the camera and you'll enjoy the experience a lot more. No worries of some device you have to mess with and no footage to try and impress yourself with or disappoint yourself with.
