Admin, help me out here. The near shore for PI is showing hard offshore starting thursday vs the chart showing NNE hard. Whats your take?

I am going to go out on a limb and stick with the National Weather service calling it 15-18 mph out of the NNE Wednesday adding to slop, chop and dumpy drops.

That means there is discrepancies between the weather models.

The nearshore maps, are using the NAM weather model, and the wave maps show the GFS model winds. Both models have different biases, and will generally agree the closer you get to the event.

The Swellinfo wind forecast that is found in the surf conditions and timeline is based on these models and other criteria.
