anybody ever eat sate over there?

I'm sure this is nothing new but pretty fugged up,probably the first time it was investigated, idk.

so the story is vendors, restaraunts and other places are selling people dog against their knowledge.it is a 3rd world country so I cant say I'm surprised, eating dog isn't illegal.

I don't really have a problem with the locals eating it since I'm sure theres not a big selection there, but tourists who pay good money to go there, and have the money to actually buy a decent meal are getting fukd by dogs.nasty story

I used to eat sea turtle meat. Sweetest steaks you'll ever have. I made a choice not to 25 plus years ago, but could be easily swayed, especially if I am in the islands. My wife and lots of others would call me a barbarian.
Way back, they used to eat sea cow (manatee), but I never did. It's all a cultural thing. (As long as they are not burned alive),

Ever had moo goo gai pan? Cat, brah! El gato gordo. LOL. We named our cat moogies as an implied threat.

that's just bad judgement by the so called tourists. you go to an island - you really think they have enough cows to feed all yalls? nah. sooner or later they run out. but you still want steak, what are they to do?

eat off the land means - know what the land is capable of feeding you with. in case of an island.. ANY island - chances are it aint cow. think. supply and demand, ma nigus.

I had surf and turf at a nice restaurant when we visited Nevis Island / St. Kitts. The "filet" which they say was beef didn't seem like any filet I have ever had.

I can't stand mangos or avocados anymore. As a kid living in PR, I ate too much of them. We used to call avocados "tree turds", because if they were under a tree on the floor and you stepped in it.........

I do love apples and pears--never ate them as a kid. Fresh Macintosh apples are the most awesome fruit on the planet. Next to boobies, of course.....

No mangoes for me. No pistachios or cashews either. I found out the hard way I'm allergic to them. All three have urishiol, the sh!t in poison ivy. Mango meat is fine supposedly, the poison is in the skin and on the seed but I'm not willing to risk it.

I'm just glad I can choose what meat I want to eat and not have to eat what's available.

My neighbor is very allergic to mangoes, so when we moved in I promised her I'd never plant a mango tree, but I love them. We have a nice guava tree, but boy do they stink up a house.

i know a lot of surfers are hung up on Indo, but i'm staying the f*#$ away from that place. Not trying to visit that place anytime soon or in my lifetime. really fd up to read that story, not so shocking just fd up. I've always told ppl Indo is plagued (mostly of the natural disaster kind). I've seen enough videos of Bali to see the crowded surf, and heard about ppls stomach issues. i'll pass. only place in Asia i'd visit would be Philippines, and that's a tourist hotbed right now. so maybe years from now i'll reconsider

It is what it is. I have eaten all sorts of weird food in lots of different countries...I have no doubt that it was dog in some cases

One thing to remember about Bali is that the water will kill you or at least you wish it would if you consume any, even food washed in the water is sketchy.

I would not touch anything offered up by some person walking by unless it was from a Boxo cart.

Stay away from the Tourist areas like Kuta and Legian, go north to the Muslim areas they care more about the food they eat and there is lots of uncrowded areas to surf.
