grew up 2 hrs from OC in good old Crofton, Maryland. Also in Owings Mills, MD and Gaithersburg, MD again inland. now reside in Kona, HI.

Owings Mills, suburban Baltimore county. plus I was commuting to Alexandria, VA every day. 2 hours each way!

Illinois does suck from someone who spent first 18 years of life there. Luckily I spent my summers at the best break on the east coast 2 blocks from the ocean on the non-DJ's side of town.

Place I hated the most, Virginia. I was assigned to Blacksburg. Lot's of outdoor stuff to do, but man talk about the freakin middle of nowhere.

in order:

eldersburg, md - loved it and was a great place to grow up, would not want any part of it now...nothing but actual country when I was there, mostly farm...got excited when they put a mcd's in town...unrecognizable now.

ocmd - liked it but busy, but only really 2 months a year and the shouldered off-season weekends...winter time at times was too quiet...I mean empty, ghost town empty...blinking yellow lights. Things have changed in the last 20+ years.

ocean pines md - not happy there

berlin md - mailing address but just as close to ocmd as berlin...love my location now...couldnt ask for a better location to live on the md shore.

One thing i miss is skiing...lived and breathed it during the winter and always had a season pass. not anymore, to far away. always contemplating buying a getaway place in the mountains, but as i get older, wonder if my body could take it.
