Single, without an "s" after it? Is that where you stand at the shoreline on a day with strong onshores and smack the fvck outa the, dangit - what's that called, shuttlecock, see how far it goes out over the water, wait for it to come back to ya, and smack it again? Like Frisbee? Maybe single wiffle ball. Take heart. It never stays flat forever. We got some more wind chop today. Found my new best bodysurfin spot in Galveston today. Water goes from neck deep to knee deep in 3 steps. Couldn't believe it. Got a few scuff marks on my shoulders from gettin pounded into the bottom after the barrel, but had fun. It'll pick up soon for ya. Wiffle ball til then.
Epic bump It's been a very nice May/June in Jersey, probably the best in a while. I surfed at least 30-35 days out of 45-50 day span. Wish I counted exactly.
I'm usually bored out of my mind in the middling Spring months, when it's still sometimes kind of cool out. I had a blast this Spring though!
I'm going for a long swimme, then hang out at the boat ramp later in the day and watch the drunken boaters fight with each other and their boats fall off their trailers as they try to haul them out. Maybe I'll save that for tomorrow. Need to have something to look forward to. Surf movie tonight- Proximity, at the Kelsey Theater, that's the ticket. Have fun ya'll
It's been fairly minimal around here lately. Weather has been very humid and in the 90s. Maybe just go out for a paddle this morning to cool off. Did same Friday AM before work and was rewarded with a half dozen rides.
It's been choppy and rough for the past couple of days. But I'm on vacation so been paddling out every morning anyway. Rather get wet, than not.
No surf here...again. Spent yesterday afternoon and early evening at First Landing State Park beach with the family. Cooling off, floating around on an inner tube with a cold beer is not a bad change of pace.
Got out on Saturday for fun, marginal surfing. Today, there were maybe 20 people out and the waves were smaller yet. Drove home. One good thing about a beach with 9-5 closure to surfing like Gloucester is at least that screens out people who don't want to get up early.
One of the best things about Delmarva is that it's rarely so flat you can't surf. Almost any day, low incoming tide will have a rideable wave for a kid or a log.
