Exactly. I'm not a fan. Good meal ideas. So I'm just going to steal them and do it myself. My fiancee is a damn good cook too. I'm sure we could take there meals and tweak them to make it ebb better. With our own ingredients

Arch, I'm curious. Not judging, trust me. Just curious.

With your vegan lifestyle, including yoga and other natural and healthy choices, I'm curious why cigarettes are part of your lifestyle. Obviously a big conflict.

Is it something that you've done since you were a kid? Is it something you like to do occasionally? Is it just a vice that you're cool with?

Again, just curious. Not anti-tobacco or anything like that, definitely not preaching. I have my reasons lol

    Nice thread here boys...

Went vegan for 10 days after checking out "What the Health" on Netflix. Don't watch it if you ever want to enjoy meat again. Read "The Tao of Health, Sex, and Longevity" as recommended by Dane Gudauskas on Surfline and it changed my entire approach to life. Try to respect the rules of trophology at least 2 of 3 meals a day but it's pretty difficult.

    For breakfast today:

    2 bananas
    1 yellow mango
    raw almonds
    green tea with lemon

Setting my sights to eat meat around 4-8 meals per week.

I've said this before... The healthiest diet you can have and still live a "normal" lifestyle, without supplements, is a wide variety of whole foods. It's that simple. Basically, this means two fundamental things: Avoid processed/packaged foods it at all possible (which are loaded with artificial additives and have less nutritional value than fresh, whole foods), and don't get stuck in a rut eating the same meals every week.

I think most Americans go for what's quick and convenient at the grocery store, and develop habits over time where they eat the same dozen or so meals over and over again for their whole lives - "pizza night" or "pasta night" every week, for example. It is, after all, how most of us grew up... especially if you grew up "poor" by American standards. This is also why most of us live with varying degrees of unhealthiness.

"Rules" and diets are not for me. I'm neither satisfied fully, nor 100% compliant. I stick with fresh fruits and veggies, and fresh proteins... both organic whenever possible. Lots of nuts and seeds and yogurts, too. And I mix it up... a lot.

I also include food that's "bad for you," too... I just don't eat a lot of it. Don't forget... there's nutrients in that stuff, too. So I have some ice cream once in a while... Telenti gelato is the bomb! And I'll eat homemade pastries and stuff, too. (Last night we had homemade meringues with pastry cream, topped with sliced kiwis and pomegranate seeds... killer).

    Today:

Breakfast - coffee and a plum.

Lunch - a green salad with some leftover crab meat and shrimp from last night (only two bucks for a recreational crab pot license that lets you put out two pots at a time).

Dinner - probably some steaks and whatever veggies are ripe in the garden on the grill.

yea Arch what's up with the cigs man? If your going to smoke, smoke da kine dude! not judging just saying...those things are horrible for you.

Anywho, cool thread. Quite the plethora of palettes.

I did something last night my momma taught me years ago. Let some chicken breast and thighs slow cook all day in the crock pot with some herbs and water and stock....salt to taste (careful stock is loaded with sodium). Then shred the chicken and remove most of stock and add some paprika, chili pepper, and cumin.

then, you can do all kinds of stuff but it's the best way to make your enchiladas IMO. Last night, I took the mini corn tortillas and put in skillet with some chedder, topped with shredded chicken and got the tortillas just starting to crisp. Topped with fresh gauc, onion, chopped adobo pepper and chased them down with Lagunitas.

Tonight's dinner was pretty good. Didn't do the plated meal, we only get 3 of those a week. Tonight i got to do things my way. Grilled up some salmon in a pan with half a lemon in there. Topped with some parsley. Side was white rice mixed up with onion, scallions, peas, and spinach. Everything organic. Sipping oon a dog fish head 60 min ipa. Not my favorite but good still.

This thread made me realize something. I only eat one meal a day. I don't do breakfast, at least not during the work week. And i often work straight through my lunch break. I probably only eat lunch 1 or 2 times a month. Weekend's are diffrent.

I have the most boring diet out of anyone here. Due to a slow and pathetic metabolism of a 96 year old woman that's 4 foot 11 and weighs 86 pounds. I can't even eat 2000 calories without having a calorie surplus. unless I ride my bike for 2 hours a day or working. When I'm working, my maintenance calories are usually around 2500, so that's a plus. I count my calories by week and not by day, so I'm able to eat a little more one or two days a week.

That's the cost of maintaining a youthful figure, which I did not have in my youth. I had some grilled chicken with asparagus for lunch. A couple of granola bars and now I'm having 2 bananas. I also ate a banana for breakfast. Had a gatorade earlier while I was working. Had a couple diet sodas. I usually stay away from drinks with calories, I'd rather eat an extra 200-300 calories than drink them, but there's a never-ending supply of gatorade, Red Bull and other stuff when I'm at work.
