Yeah it looked fun earlier in the day when the winds were tame. Wish I could have been out then.

I was in the Belmar area. Didn't get there till 6 and the NE wind picked up significantly. It was a high tide washing machine. What ya gonna do..

Rhode Island was pretty damn fun yesterday. About knee-waist but the north winds that were killing you guys were straight offshore here. Super clean. I got one left that just went on forever, and I'm not sure how I covered so much ground as it was breaking right off the sand.

Took the dump board out and it worked ok. It's a really unusual shape, about 6'2, probably 20.5+ wide and about 3" thick. And it's got some channels cut into the bottom third of the board, but then don't extend out through the tail. When I was on the channels you could literally feel the board accelerate, but if my weight went onto the tail it was like hitting a brake. Very weird feeling. I have no idea when it was shaped, but it reminds me of maybe a mid-80's board, something you might have seen Martin Potter riding.

They kept calling for waist+ today, but I'm just not seeing it. And it's cold.

That's a stoker. I saw that board on the other thread. Channel bottom thruster thick and wide. They work.

Yeah someone left it out at the giveaway part of our local dump. The tail was busted to hell, and it has some delam spots, but nothing some resin, glass and sandpaper couldn't fix.

The middle fin is small, but screws into a fin box like a longboard.

I'm really curious what it will ride like in chest high going right (frontside) with some face so I can try to turn it a bit. Yesterday I wasn't doing much more than grabbing the rail and driving straight lines and trying to get covered up.

Last night in DE was pretty fun. Surfed from 6:30-8:30pm on incoming to high tide with four other guys out. A few head high sets came through. Current was crazy strong, so I'd take a set to the beach, walk around and paddle back into a set. Repeat 5 times in 15 minutes. Tons of fun. 6th paddle out I sit up on my board and got bucked off by a big ass fish/ray? WTF, caught a wave in and watched a school of blues in the lineup while the other 3 guys who are now trying not to leg dangle lol. Waited about 10 min, watching the school till it drifted about 30 yards out. Paddled back out, caught another 10-20 waves, while watching the sickest color show reflecting on the water from the sunset. I was the last one out. Good times, but man I'm ready for a real swell. These 3' days that are like ankle high are killing me.

Forecast back home don't look too great this week, as far as surfing goes.

Vegas is feeling very East Coast-esque since we got here yesterday. Much cooler than usual for this time of year. Temps in the low 80's, but much more humid than Vegas usually is. It's usually 100+ degrees and barely any humidity when I'm here in July. There's been some rain too. It didn't rain at all last year when I was here the same week. Not even once. Currently under a flash flood watch until 8:00 PM!

    everybody surf something for me!

Vegas is the perfect place for a fake Kelly wave...wish I had the capital to invest in something like that

Yes! I was thinking the same thing last time I was there and wanted to surf. Seriously, it would work.

Sounds like a fun sesh. I saw a few double up sets last night on the verge of shoulder high so I can believe it. Agree on the need for real swell. Yearning for #lephs.

Stuck at work today but checking the cams there were surprisingly fun looking longboard waves out on Nantasket today. Rare that SI totally misses even a mini swell like this on the forecaste.

I've always thought they were corny, but really was in the mood to try one out the last few times I've been here. They just don't have one here, at least not that I know of. We usually go to Lake Mead beach for a day over the weekend and even rent a boat one day. That's usually the most exciting part of the trip for me. Waiting for Saturday and Sunday just for that.

Not quite flat. But nearly so, waves were ankle to shin, and almost an occasional knee high. But, within 40 minutes there was zero coming in.

But it's always a good day to be in the water and get all salty! I caught one knee high left. It was short but sweet :) (The rest were just gliding along really shallow, not daring to pop up.).

Looks like a little bump in central Florida this week.

It def put a smile on my face to surf and see friends! I am getting stronger, was able to walk AND carry the board simultaneously at the start of the session.

Looks like your schwag has been bigger than our schwag lol.

Was that you getting sucked over the falls backwards? Fark I hate when that happens.

Surfed 3 days this week. This time of year the better surf can be very short-lived, like, fun for an hour or less before it turns back to total dog shiite. Had some fun. Surfing is the best, compared to not surfing, and everything else.

I got dooped by the forecast today. Was calling for chest to shoulder high, offshore and low tide. Grabbed my standard 5'8. Couldn't get any data off the buoy. Knew something was up. Ended up being thigh high with some waist stomach high guys every now and then. Beautiful shape and the 5'8 worked, just would of preferred the mini. Out was weird. Some stood up, some were really fat. Just a weird day. Still had fun though and got one really good one that let me pull off a tight little hook right in the pocket. That one wave really made the whole session for me.
