Too soon to know. We got the Bermuda High system and the new wave in GOM to take into account. But mom says to get your batteries, tarp, water and canned goods now, just in case. My gut says this could be very bad from NC on north. Major population centers, low lying homes and industry. Let's hope the recurve model holds true...especially since FEMA Is tied up in Texas.

    This from flhurricane.com:
    "Irma overnight runs:

6Z GFS Hurricane later today, maintains it, keeps it north of the Caribbean, cat 3/4 landfall near outer banks on Sep 10th.

0Z Euro, over Northeastern Caribbean, PR, on Wednesday, cat 2 hurricane, just north of Hispaniola by Friday, riding northern coast of Cuba at the end of the run on the 10th.

CMC misses Caribbean to the north,

GEFS Ensembles the majority of runs recurve, (good news)

Euro ensembles closer over the Bahamas, though.

Splitting the difference keeps it a threat to the US in play, ne Caribbean also. Still a long ways out, but it will be important to watch over the next week or two. The wildcard is the potential Gulf system, which could affect the track of Irma.

Both Euro and the GFS trended west.

If it were to affect the US, timeframe would likely be Sep 10-12th. "

Looks like it either hits S-CFL Florida and goes into the gulf or gets very close and then it curves north up the east coast maintaining strength.

its too far out to get to worried about YET but make sure you hurricane kit and go bag is ready. the 10 day GFS has it coming into NC-OBX as possibly a strong cat 3 possible 4 and rolling up the EC. Consider yesterday it was curving off toward Bermuda. Tomorrow it will probably be forecast to hit Nepal. Be ready whatever it gives us.

Yesterday I cut a bunch of tree limbs and cleaned up around the house. Going to do some more over the weekend. I told my wife it's time to stock up and get everything squared away. Watching Harvey, Katrina, Sandy, etc. just makes you wonder when it's your turn. F I feel bad for the Texans right now.

Texas is screwed if Jose hits the Houston area.

Ever surfed the Nepal Pier? It only breaks every decade or so. I saw a Yetti on the Jetty last time I surfed there.

MSW shows 8-12' at 18" interval for Saturday 9-9-17. Light offshores. Too powerful for Me, but what a show!

Hey Peajay, nice to see you :)

Current thinking in some models is that Irma may go up Central Florida and into the Gulf. Lots can change, specifically what will that Bermuda High do?

looks like the models are keeping it north of the islands, towards bermuda/bahamas. Can't belite what the swell models are predicting....6' @ 18 seconds and the like...stoked!
