    A nationwide campaign is underway to nominate The Beach Boys for our nation’s highest civilian honor, The Medal of Freedom. This nomination is made possible by a petition that anyone can endorse. Please see link below.

    This is a true grassroots effort supported by lifelong fans across the nation who felt that the band’s contributions over the last 55 years merit the awarding of The Medal of Freedom.

    Past recipients of The Medal of Freedom within the genre of popular music include: Frank Sinatra, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin and Bruce Springsteen.

    The process for nominating The Beach Boys for The Medal of Freedom spans a 30 day period, August 19 through September 18, 2017, during which time 100,000 people must endorse the petition for qualification.
