One of my crew has a webcam on her balcony. The waves look very fun today on her cam. There are no waves in Atlanta. Not yet.
this thing turns into a beast once it strolls up to NEngland. Getting a big score this wknd, and that forecast hasn't changed in over a week so it's GOTTA be true
Latest models have jose striking RI, which would all around suck for surf in NE. Victory at sea conditions. Hopefully track shifts offshore more.
Looks like it will be a Cat 1 about 200 mi off New Jersey on Tuesday. Strong NE winds. VAS conditions. Flooding in flood prone areas. Beach erosion. Looks like the Hook might have to close. The new normal.
I went out for lunch and could smell the paper mill about 8 miles north of us. That always means there's a good offshore wind blowing. The waves didn't show up last night when I checked the beach but they're coming.
Tsk, tsk, tsk...it's always about you, isn't it?? Whats good for you, what sucks for you..... You should do what one of your liberal heroes (Premier Trudeau) insists on: He says we should only think about the rest of the world first- give it away; screw thinking about yourself (America). lol
Jose' can you see by the dawn's early light great swells and clean waves in Myrtle Beach today We get excited easily out here, y'all
Isle oF palms yesterday might have been the best day of waves, size and form wise, this year that I can remember
This one has the same forecasted path as Hurricane Bill in 2009. Bill provided pumping waves for about a week in CHS as a cat 2 between us and Bermuda. Looks like Jose will be a cat 3 in that area. This one will bring the goods and hopefully won't leave much behind as it passes. ^^ I'm all jacked up.... This post is all about Maria.
a couple days ago, believe it was Sunday, some bodyboarders killin it on Folly with the double break in front of my place. I know IOP has a big ol sandbar, guessing you prolly got in that action
got enough sat, sun and took the day off work yesterday was best of the 3 days..sore and beat like a old boxer now....these waves had some serious juice behind them. yea that first sandbar out in front of the pier at iop is brutal on a large swell soaks up most of anything until tide lifts then swell can come through/above it.a bit .was strange though as the periods weren't that far apart so as one swell landed it provided enough water to let the next one through..
The waves from Jose started out kinda wonky but when the tide started pushing in Sunday afternoon I don't know the last time I saw it that combination of clean, huge, rideable and mean. That afternoon was probably the best I've seen my beach in a decade. Yesterday was insanely fun too and there's even a decent wave hanging around this morning.
