I definately wasn't referring to the industrial sounding bands from that period. I wasn't a huge fun, although saw NIN around 1990 and enjoyed the show. I'm talking about the twentysomething white guys, one-word-band-name-plucked-from-thesaurus, two jangly guitars-bass-drums, quiet verse/loud chorus formula alt-rock bands that just seemed to proliferate during that few years. CBS Crewsby named a few, here are some more: Bush, Sponge, Collective Soul, Everclear, Eels, Fastball, Fuel... I'm sure lots of them paid their dues, but a lot of music sounding a lot like the rest of the music.

Been listening to a ton of War on Drugs recently. Went to find some to post and found this video... if you watch the whole thing... well... tears for me. Here is an article about the video and the song... pretty cool. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/c...te-to-the-loving-decision-by-the-war-on-drugs
I've had this band's music stuck in my head for weeks now, after hearing one of their songs in a surf video. It wasn't this song, but it just fit the mood of the surfing perfectly.
That was awesome, Cutback. Cool vid. I like war on drugs too. the vocalist reminds of Bob Dylan if he took vocal lessons...
Barry loves Canadians... but not alt music...

Saw Thievery for maybe the 10th? time end of September on the boardwalk at Coney Island. Really cool, intimate setting. Always a good show. Always a chill crowd.
