I've been looking for a beater log for quite some time and came across this on CL:

    https://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/spo/d/stewart-90-longboard/6339847378.html

Make no bones about it, the board is no eye candy. I haven't seen it in person yet, but assuming all of the dings and dents are watertight (or even if they're an easy patch job) I don't have a problem scooping it up for small summer days. Plus, nobody will ever look to steal it (had that happen before)

My one cause for hesitation is the repair job on the rear third. The rails almost look stepped just before the fins as it heads to the tail. I've looked on Stewart's site and don't see any boards with that pinch - although maybe this is just an older model.

It's possible the tail was snapped off and reattached after sanding and cleaning, which also makes we question the status of the stringers as well.

I wouldn't pay $225 for this board as is, but curious what your thoughts are if you were in my shoes just looking to add something longer to the rotation for cheap.

Do not buy this for more than $30. Then, throw the board away and keep the fins and leash.

Ha! It doesn't even come with a leash according to the ad.

I'm going to offer around $75-100 if it was actually snapped. Since its not going to be a daily driver and I have a groveler once it gets waist high and up, I don't need anything special. Just something to get a few glides in when its small.

yikes. I know where you're coming from, but I say keep looking. It's about to be prime board buying season anyway.

The rail line is so jacked up, I highly doubt that the repairs are going to hold up if he couldn't get that part right.

It was definately snapped, and it wasn't repaired properly. Look at the kink in the rail lines on both sides where it was snapped. They dont include a picture of the bottom rocker, but i bet it has a kink in it as well. I wouldn't buy it at all.

Not even worth a 30 pack IMO. That thing is a total piece of doodoo and will break again first chance it gets. "Professional repairs" LOL.

Where are you located? I'll sell you a foamie 8'0 or 9'0 for $100, also have some cheap used epoxy LBs (all rental boards)

it ain't worth it. i'm looking a lot more to find a replacement for my LB, looking for another shape more conducive to my stylee. Jax, FL Craigslist is where it's at. lotta vintage boards being pushed out there recently but several LB's under the $300 range in much better shape. if you're looking to spend around $250 for a board, then i have a 9'4" Gary Wilson board i'd be willing to give to a fellow SI member. and it's legit, hot rod log. haven't posted it on CL cuz i haven't got around to taking pics, practically ding-less

Good chit folks, thanks for reaffirming what I was already thinking. I thought it looked like they took off about 2 inches and reattached the tail. A progressive shape indeed

I've got an 8-0 foamie in Delmarva that is fun when I make it down that way, but I'm looking for something to have with me here regularly in NY. For that price range in this area, its pretty slim pickins at the moment.

Although it IS the end of sarfing season they tell me, so I'll keep my eyes open
