The Puerto Ricans who invade Fla just may well vote in elections soon.

Not legally, because they ain't supposed to.

    They'll still vote.

    Dude.

Cities have, for the most part, been run by Socialists, or borderline Communists for almost forever.

Didn't Chicago just hit 600 homicides for this year?

    But back on track...

I still think that an enterprising young, single, able bodied, and hard working dude could find a way to help.

You could help out the recovery, make some $, and surf after work.

Maybe find a couple like minded folks either before you go, or soon after arrival, to keep you safe.

Legit don't know if you are kidding but as US citizens of course Puerto Ricans can vote in federal elections if they register in time in their new states, same as if someone moved back Stateside from Guam or wherever.

It's only illegal if they don't register... which means they have to have residence in their voting district. Puerto Ricans are US Citizens. They just can't vote if the live on the island. And that's the same for me and you... if we move to PR and live there, we can't vote... but we're still US citizens. But as residents of PR, we lose our voting rights.

Doing this from my phone, so hope it works.

I most humbly apologize for not knowin the rules on PR folks comin to USA.

Cities in US are still run by socialists.

    Now, back to work.

    I stand corrected.

However, I still have strong doubts that a handful of expatriates relocating to Florida have "Republicans concerned for good reason".

    From Rincon today

11/16/2017 PR Blog WE GOT WATER AND POWER BACK!!!! Just short of 60 days. I’m not even there to celebrate but I have some friends staying at my house and they are stoked. I spoke with a good friend yesterday and he said that in the last 2 weeks a lot of contractors from the SE(Alabama tags on an island really show up in PR) have arrived with bucket trucks and that the work of restoring power is speeding up now.

Good news, then bad, then good gain, then bad again :

"Around the same time that Puerto Rico announced that power generation on the island had reached 50 percent of capacity, power outages occurred throughout the San Juan metro area setting the island back once again.
According to Puerto Rico's power company (PREPA), there was a technical failure in unit 7 at the San Juan Central plant. This caused power outages from Cambalache Plant in Arecibo to Manatí Transmission Center. Bayamón, Guaynabo, San Juan and Carolina are among the affected areas.
This power failure dropped generation from 50 to 22 percent on Wednesday morning. It climbed back to 43.7 percent by 8:00 p.m. that night.
However, San Juan unit 8 went out of service Thursday morning, bringing it down to 40.8 percent. PREPA expects it will increase to 80 percent by Nov. 30 in accordance with the goal of Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló, according to an AAE tweet."

The family I rent from sent me this on Nov 11th and I just noticed: (Aguadilla area)

Just wanted to share the great news.
    We finally got electricity yesterday.
The water came about 3 weeks ago.
We actually have a surfing group lodging with us who have been coming for 11 years. They decided to come even the possibility of no electricty; they arrived there Friday morning and the power came on that evening.
We are very happy that things are coming along.

Getting a new update from Rincon (Puntas) later this afternoon. The fellow who I quoted earlier in this thread said he got power at his house but Puntas does not have power. Stay tuned for the update straight from Puntas with commenting on vacationing there this season.
