Through the ups and the downs us surfers go through a journey, our journey through our own perspective. These individual perspectives of all of us surfers makes us a community. We are a community within a community. If we were from Colorado we would ski the summits, if we were from the Plains we would race across them. From land, sea and sky, the're pioneers, not only riding the heavens, but exploring them, going beyond, not only for sport, but for their own and others personal reasons. But we unite as Surfers, as one community, learning from our mistakes and triumphing from our progression. Even though we fight each other, we fight for a better future, no matter how right or wrong we may be. Surfing is a brotherhood, a right of passage, a community. Even though a local stink eyes you in the lineup, he will hug you on the beach, rejoice, and share his weed with you. And for that; I look at the surfing community like a brother, always looking up or down at you, but expecting the absolute best!! And that inspires me!!
fetidpusface, I am NOT your brother; I will NEVER share my weed with you; you do NOT inspire me, and I am not on a journey, especially not/never with you. Surfers are ignorant, uneducated morons- you exemplify this. The only item I would share with you would be your sister.
Awww... come on, dudes. Jesterface is just expressing his feelings. Don't let 'em kill your vibe, J-face. Just be you, brother... just be you. But I'll have to say I'm with Zip on this one. I went to the beach the other day for a surf, and there were 4 or 5 local guys out down the beach. Good dudes... I like to see them in the water. But I walked the other way and surfed an empty spot one beach north.
Also if we were from the Plains, we would be trying to figure out how to move to either the coast or the mountains.
Man... Jesterface is getting Cybervibed hard. He was just surfing the web with stoke and now his internet car has cybersurf wax all over the windshield, it's tires have been slashed and all of his virtual reality sh!t has been thrown in the water.
"He doesn't like you." "I don't like you either!" "We have the death sentence on 12 systems!" "I'll be careful." "You'll be dead!"
I surf for me. I can shake off the grime of everyday life and lose myself in the moment with the rush of speed and carving. Brotherhood and community comes later with the common experience that we all have...fun.
