Endless Summer is a good movie still to this day. I like to watch it every couple of years to take a trip back in surfing time.
bummer... lots of great surf films and really added a lot to surfing / surf culture back in his day...
Started watching Surfing Hollow Days last night... start watching and you'll get hooked. Classic Bruce Brown flick... silly humor, lots of wipeouts, lousy soundtrack, lots of great rides by a bunch of top surfers (on classic longboards), many of whom you won't know the names of, but were local legends of their time.
Before I was a surfer, I saw Endless Summer and saw THAT was the dream lifestyle, and I wanted to be a part of it, and have the surfing lifestyle be a large part of me. Thank you Mr. Bruce, RIP!!!
So, that means we can blame Brown for you joining the plague of kooks that are in the way in the water??!!?? <grin>
Yeah, he was certainly the Pied Piper. Us morons just followed him right off the ledge, all happy little lemmings. Wheeee!!!
