Who hear has been snowboard lately?

thinking of doing a day trip to blue mtn soon

 

Went to Blue Mt on Sunday. It was actually pretty good and not crowded at all for a weekend. They had about 20 trails open w good snow coverage.

 

I was at Blue Sunday, fresh off a flight from DR. It was fun and not crowded. Decent amount of pow on the slopes. Cruised the double blacks and terrain park a good bit.

 

snowboarding is very old fashioned gayness.

 

Nice Kanman! Had some buddies tryin to go today, but I couldn't make it. I can't wait to get up!

 

Was at Killington this past weekend, skiing and snowboarding. Conditions were good from 2 feet of snow a few days before. Plenty of untracked in the trees, but definitely early season with no base underneath to speak of. Very rugged at times. Broke a binding on one of my skis on the first run of Saturday. The actual trails were in pretty good shape, but pretty icy in spots by Sunday afternoon. Nothing epic but definitely a good weekend for this time of year. Heading back up a week from tomorrow (got a house up there and planning to take 2-3 trips per month all season).

 

How much is a lift ticket these days?

And sick shot. I will never be able to launch that high. I’ll do small to medium jumps. I mostly prefer steep terrain and some back country.

 

I paid $57 for an 8hr pass at blue. Hopefully the rates stay cheap. I think last year or the year before they wanted damn near 80 bucks...

 

That's always been my issue with snowboarding.

Having to drive 3+ hours plus gas and everything it's a 100 dollar day. Not to mention the price of boards, boots, pants, jacket. It's nuts.

Now for that 100 bux plus a little you can get a skateboard and you're set any day, not just one.

Surfing has a higher entry price but its a one time fee. Ain't no paddle out tickets at the ocean.


Snowboarding is super fun and I get that the lifts need to be built, manned, maintained, and all that. Just for me i never seem to have the disposable income to go more than once a year.

$57 bucks for a day? I’d probably buy a season pass, but I wouldn’t go enough to even justify buying a season pass.

I haven’t went since like January of 2010, I think? Might have even been January of 2009 haha. Up at Mountain Creek in Vernon. My buddy used to go one night a week, back in the day (late 90’s/early 00’s) and I’d go with him.

 

I only went a couple times last year and paid $75 everytime. Sucked!

 

Its funny but I can enjoy surfing in a lot of conditions but if I had to mostly ski in NJ or PA I think I'd probably just not go. This must be what surfers from HI feel like when they end up on the east coast.
