I can't wait until this wave pool phenomenon jumps the shark. It's reinventing the wheel and fixing something that ain't broken. The ocean works just fine and surfing doesn't have to be for "everyone."

Hell yeah, i'd play in there for a while! I know everyone gets bent out of shape about these things and how they are taking over surfing, yadda yadda yadda. If I am watching a surf contest, absolutely I want real deal ocean. But you can't tell me that if you had the opportunity, just you and a couple buddies. to have this thing all to yourselves for an hour or two, that you wouldn't do it. I'd rock that thing like Stacey's mom!

Ha! I'm sure it would be fun to give it a go once or twice Z (not sure I'd pay a dime) but in almost every instance the people who use these wave park things fall into 2 categories: 1.) They live so damn far from the ocean that surfing otherwise is impossible. How miz is that? 2.) They're semi-pro clowns who surf so much that they're bored and need something to freshen things up from boring old barrels in the ocean. Brats.

If I ever got to either of those two stages, I'd hope someone gives me the Uncle 2B treatment..

Because god forbid they have to take the time to paddle out through a mild stupid beach break, in order to catch some stupid ocean slabs, and wear their stupid suites n’ bewts. Stupid nature...

It's not really an attempt to fix anything though - it's like building an indoor ski slope because not everyone can get to the mountains I think.

What would be actually terrible would be if surf 'schools' started driving customers out to the line up on wave runners so they didn't have to paddle - that's going to happen somewhere I bet.

I've surfed Typhoon Lagoon several times. Actually really fun. Wave is so-so but good time hanging in the O with the fellas surfing in chlorine. All "goon" sessions were were followed by binge drinking in the O as well so perhaps my memory is tainted by the post surf shenanigans.

Not only CAN I tell you I would not go in, I can also VOW I would pee in that pool, maybe even take a dump in it to create an obstacle surf session for next user.

Close--NH University has a large van (with windows) that buses "surf club" members to the beach. We are always happy to see that gang of losers......
Wave runner?--don't give them ideas. You are now on my "usual suspects" list!!!
