yeah. Only surfed Monday and Thursday. I think it was Monday, Jan 29th that was the day with the swell. No? Surfed 1st Light on Monday and Jetty Park on Thursday.

    Thurs basically sucked.

Monday was fun but the tide was high in the morning (my only window)

I had a surfing buddy that went into the Air Force back in 1986, forcing him to relocate from SoCal to FL. He never surfed again.

Had another friend move to OCMD back in high school...we laughed at him and he never surfed again.

    I'll never understand why

I saw it on TV as I was working. My wife said the sonic boom scared the crap out of her. She works not too far from the Cape. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

    Watched it on TV.
Saw the first space shuttle launch while there in April 1981.
    Awesome is the proper description.
I think a lot of folks, including me, have taken space exploration for granted; but after visiting the NASA Space Center in Huntsville, AL, I gained a new perspective and a much greater appreciation.

I visited Cape Canaveral when i was really young, that planted the seed for sure.

My lady got me the book "Endurance" by Scott Kelly for xmas. It really reminded me how perilous the whole space program is. Now I'm reading "The Right Stuff". I highly recommend.

By the way, please consider this thread hijacked in the name of outer space.

used to go to "rocket parties" back in the day when they were launching atlas or delta rockets every month. cool to watch from the beach at night. even down in indiatlantic it would still be bright enough to light up the beach.
