Only Xcel thing I own is a rash guard, and I like it.

I've been rocking a new Xcel 4.5/3.5 hooded comp-x this winter. Its basically the 5 ml. hooded Drylock, with a few seams and outside rubber panels removed to make it lighter and more flexy/stretchy. I loved the 2 or 3 5 ml. drylocks I had, warm as hell, but always seemed like a bit more suit than I needed or wanted. The Comp-x is definitely a bit lighter and less cumbersome than the Drylock and, based on 3 sessions in upper 30 degree water this past week, the suit is plenty warm. Highly recommend, as long as it holds up.

Just an update - I've worn my new 2017-18 7mm drylock boots 4 or 5 times and they've stretched just enough to go from annoyingly tight to just right.

Kind of off-topic, but since we're talking about boots and gloves...

Got a boot dryer for christmas this year... MASSIVE game changer for comfort, surfing on consecutive days, probably would help with the smell too if this pair wasn't already a lost cause. Might negatively impact neoprene live, not sure yet? But worth it even if it does. Can surf in the afternoon and by morning boots are only slightly damp. By lunchtime? Bone dry and warm inside. Wish I had gotten one of these years ago.

More on-topic: On my third winter with xcel drylock 7mm boots and they are still going strong. Definitely will get the exact same thing again when they finally give out.

Yeah I got one of those boot/glove dryers too, total game changer for back to back sessions and eliminating smells.
