Another reason why I don't subscribe to mainstream media or ideology. Those that do are looked down upon with scorn. Lapping up the mainstream media drivel is pure idiocy. But those idiot's vote count the same as you and I. #sad

 

The mainstream media has always been infatuated with Obama. As far as they are concerned he can do no wrong, and they will never report anything that will make him look bad.

Oh yeah, Griffin is already back hosting pat-yourself-on-the-back awards shows in Hollyweird. It's amazing how short their selective memories are.

Of all political groups and leanings, it's the Conservatives who should be champions of our free press. Today we like to paint a much different picture of the media ("liberal media" claims, etc.), but there's a reason why free press and free speech enjoy equal protection under the First Amendment.

Again... I point the finger at the easily manipulated, ignorant masses who can't think critically about anything themselves. You don't have to be particularly intelligent or enlightened to see the biases in the media, and you don't have to dig very deeply to see the sources of those biases. It takes a surprisingly small amount of intellectual effort to see the truth for yourself. It's just really hard for people to challenge their own beliefs.

 

@LBCrew, I agree with your statement for the most part.

However, journalistic integrity flew out the window when the media started taking political sides and creating agendas and narratives as a type of evidence to bolster their personal beliefs.

As you previously stated, the smallest modicum of intelligence will easily weed out media bias. But the fact remains that bias has no place whatsoever in journalism (unless you are writing an Opinion piece). Their job is, and always has been, to report FACTS. If they don't have enough facts to report, then INVESTIGATE until you DO have the actual true facts.

When media attempts to present non-factual content as anything other than what it truly is, then in essence they have become nothing more than lazy arbiters of their chosen political spectrum. They are actually worse than politicians, as the media has consciously chosen to create narratives that contribute to dividing populations.

Any media outlet reporting on a story without facts should be held responsible by law. Say what you want about Freedom of Press and Freedom of Speech, but their are no guarantees of freedom for consequences one should face for not being truthful.
