I couldn't agree more. There's a better time and place for an Olympic athlete to hold the flag than right after he unstraps his board. I'm not giving him a pass... but they should have thought that out a bit better.
USA/Canada are comprised exclusively of "holy chit he's still alive?" and "this kid will be a great Saber/Coyote/Panther next year" kinda players.
As long as we're on the subject: I distinctly remember the period where "professional athletes" were not allowed to participate in the Games. Disregarding the argument of whether the Eastern bloc countries actually used "professionals" in any sense of the word, how do you all feel about the later American acquiescence of allowing true professionals to compete in Olympic hockey and basketball? Was it a good thing or a bad thing, and why?
My thoughts exactly! That about sums it up! I couldn’t believe some of those names, even though it really hasn’t been that long since they played in the NHL. I forgot some of these guys even existed!
US women's Olympic hockey team beats Canada in shootout and winds gold! Did anyone watch this game yesterday?? It sure was something....
US Men's Curling won gold yesterday against Sweden. Not sure why this "ice shuffleboard" is an Olympic sport, but it was sort of fun to watch.
Yeah I didn't really get curling during the last couple Games, but I actually kinda enjoy it a little now. Just a bit sad when the big bad US of A grabs the gold in things like curling and cross country skiing and suffers in hockey and the skating disciplines. Maybe a sign of a country in decline? EDIT: Almost forgot about the ladies hockey stunning victory. Gotta give them their props, a great victory for our country. I guess my point was that our medal count is down considerably.
Man, some of those female curlers looked pretty dang attractive, especially the Canuck women. The Olympic Committee needs to reassess their team uniforms so they appear more sexy and demure. The girl rolling the stone should be in revealing lingerie, and the scrubbers should be in French Maid outfits. Now that's good curling
They looked like pasty white tourons with Dad Bods wearing discount rack regalia from Ron Jon The only steroids they've probably ever seen were nose steroids for a deviated septum
and for some reason a russian curler felt the need to use a banned substance so he could shuffleboard better? i just don't get it. Maybe next time i'm playing pool I'll inject some HGH to get better english on the 8 ball
